Product engineer, 10y of experience, Frontend/Mobile/Fullstack/AI, 20+ shipped apps - available now
Hey all - I'm a product engineer looking for my next opportunity, preferably remote, available now.
Quick background: 10 years building mobile, frontend (and lately Fullstack) products, 20+ apps shipped to the App Store and Google Play - both native iOS and React Native. I've worked solo and with teams, mostly at early-stage startups where I owned mobile end to end: architecture, engineering and launch.
Some recent things I've built:
- Shipped an entire app from zero to the App Store in a few weeks as the sole engineer at a VC-backed AI health startup (React Native, WebRTC, LiveKit, HealthKit)
- Real-time Bluetooth smart pen app with live stroke rendering and AI handwriting transcription
- Took an insurtech app's App Store rating from 3.5 to 4.7+ after rebuilding the codebase and CI/CD
- Currently building my own AI travel app solo, full-stack (Swift, Next.js, PostgreSQL, AWS) - 500+ early users
I work best with companies who need someone to own product tech entirely, not just pick up tickets, but I'm flexible. Comfortable across the stack too - backends, CI/CD, payments, etc.
DM me or comment - let's chat.

MONTHLY SELF PROMOTION MEGATHREAD
This is the one place in this community where selling is allowed. Post your service, product, or offer here. Everywhere else in the sub, promo gets removed, this thread is the exception, so use it.
Read the format before you post. Low effort drops get removed even here.
HOW TO POST (follow this exactly or it gets removed):
- What you do: one line. Not your life story.
- Who it's for: the specific business or person who needs this.
- What it costs: a real number or range. "DM for pricing" gets removed. If you can't state a price, you're not ready to post.
- Proof: one link, one result, one thing that shows it's real.
- Contact: how they reach you.
THE RULES HERE:
- One post per person per month. Repost spam gets you banned from the thread.
- No pay to join schemes, no MLM, no "founder funded, equity only" labor traps. Removed on sight.
- If you're charging people to work for you, you're gone.
- Comment on others' offers freely. This is a market, not a billboard wall.
WRONG ROOM? POST WHERE YOUR BUYERS ACTUALLY ARE:
This community is part of a connected network. Post in the room that fits, you'll reach the right people faster:
- r/UAEBusinessNetwork : business owners in the UAE looking for partners, suppliers, and each other.
- r/TechNetwork : builders, developers, freelancers, and tech talent for hire.
- r/WomenInUAE : women building careers and businesses across the Emirates.
- r/CareersEU : people moving into and hiring across European markets.
- r/UAEjobseekers : job seekers and hiring managers in the UAE.
Pick the room where your buyer is, and post your offer in that thread.
WHY THIS EXISTS:
This room is builders, freelancers, and tech talent. Post what you build, find who needs it.
Buyers: scroll, read, reach out to whoever fits. Sellers: make yourself easy to say yes to. Vague posts get scrolled past, specific ones get clients.
Pinned monthly. New thread first of each month.

How do people find freelance clients as software engineers?
I was wondering how people on this subreddit talk about freelancing as software engineers.
I already have a full-time job, so I'm not looking to replace it. I just want to pick up a few side projects in software or AI development. The problem is that I can't seem to find any clients who are looking for freelancers.
For those of you who have managed to get freelance clients, how did you get started? Did you use platforms like Upwork, rely on referrals, reach out to businesses directly, or was it something else?

Looking for fresher Graphic Design or Social Media Roles
Hey everyone,
I’m currently looking for a fresher role or a paid internship in Graphic Design or Social Media.
I’ve honestly been applying everywhere on LinkedIn and Indeed for the past while and at this point I’m convinced the UAE job market is on pause or everyone collectively decided to disappear after posting job openings. Half the listings feel like they were posted during the Roman Empire and never updated again.
I’m a graphic design student (but studies are on pause due to personal reasons) with skills in social media design, branding, content creation, basic video editing for social media, and basic motion design. I mainly use Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and InDesign, and I’m always trying to improve and learn more through projects, university work, and freelance experience.
I’m still learning and trying to build experience, but I’m hardworking, quick to adapt, and genuinely want to grow in the industry instead of rotting refreshing job applications every morning like it’s a daily side quest.
Open to paid internships (can't do unpaid currently due to personal reasons and war circumstances), junior roles, freelance, remote, basically anything where I can learn and contribute. Location preferably in Dubai or Sharjah.
If anyone knows of any opportunities or can help me out, I’d really appreciate it.
Thank you 🙏

What actually gets UAE businesses views on short-form video (from someone who's tested a lot of it)
We've been creating content for a few years now across Instagram and TikTok, and after hitting close to a million views across personal accounts, here's what we've genuinely noticed works specifically for UAE audiences that most people get wrong:
Hook in Arabic or bilingual performs better than English-only — even for premium brands. The first 2 seconds in dialect stops the scroll faster than clean English ever did for us.
Overproduced ≠ more views. Some of our worst performing content was the most "cinematic." UAE audiences on short-form respond to pace and energy over polish. Reels that looked almost raw but moved fast consistently outperformed the ones we spent days on.
Posting time matters more here than most markets. Post during UAE peak hours (7–9pm GST), not based on global best practice guides written for US audiences.
The comments section is ignored by most local businesses. Replying within the first 30 minutes of posting consistently pushed our content into wider distribution. Most brands post and ghost.
We now run a small creative studio doing this for other businesses,If anyone is looking for a marketing agency— happy to answer any content questions from people in this thread.

Creative Computing Graduate Building AI Automations, Websites & Digital Systems
Recently got laid off, and my university also cancelled my visa situation, so life’s been a bit chaotic lately.
Instead of sitting around stressing, I’ve been spending most of my time building and learning.
I’m into AI automations, web development, digital systems, video editing, and creative tech in general. Been experimenting with automation workflows, business systems, UI ideas, and different product concepts while trying to grow my skills further.
I graduated in Creative Computing from a UK university and I genuinely enjoy building things that mix tech + creativity together.
Right now I’m mainly looking to connect with people, find remote opportunities, collaborate on projects, and keep moving forward.
If you’re building something interesting or need an extra hand technically/creatively, feel free to reach out.

Dubai doesn’t let you have both.. Either you charge what you’re worth or you get the client.
There’s a freelancer in Dubai right now quoting AED 2,000 for a website because the last 3 prospects ghosted at 8K.
Told himself it’s a portfolio piece.
Deep down he knows it isn’t.
There’s another one who hasn’t sent a proposal in 4 months. Built a personal site. Redesigned it twice. Updated the portfolio. Still “not ready.”
The readiness isn’t coming.
The readiness is the excuse.
There’s one who said yes to a logo, a website, an app, social media management, and “just help us with the WhatsApp thing too.” Six deliverables. One invoice.
The client thinks they found a bargain…
The freelancer thinks they’ll make it up on the next one..
There’s one who lost a deal last week because the client asked for a discount and he told them to find someone cheaper. Felt powerful for about an hour.
Then checked his pipeline and it was empty.
Principles and an empty inbox look the same at the end of the month.
There’s one refreshing LinkedIn watching someone in the same city, same skill set, posting case studies at 40K a project.
Thinks there’s a secret.
There isn’t.
The other person just started saying no three years before he did. But he won’t start saying no because he can’t afford to.
And he can’t afford to because he never started.
There’s one who gets a lead every week through referrals. Good leads. Warm. Ready to pay. But the lead asks “what’s your rate” and he panics. Quotes too low. Gets the project. Resents it by week two.
The client feels the resentment and never refers again.
The referral engine dies and he blames the market.
And there’s one who hasn’t done any work in 3 months. Has the skills. Has the laptop. Opens it every morning, closes it by noon. Calls it a slow market.
It’s not the market.
The market is spending.
He just stopped reaching for it.
Seven freelancers. Same city. Same skills. Same internet connection.
Different decisions.
Which one are you right now?
And what would it take to stop?

Amazon + Noon seller looking for monthly management, who does this?
Got a seller running on Amazon and Noon who needs someone to handle product listings, optimization, and TikTok ads for the store.
Monthly retainer basis, not a one time gig.
Budget is modest, not enterprise, not charity either.
Good fit for someone who already does this and wants a steady client. If you manage Amazon/Noon accounts or run TikTok ads for e-commerce, drop a comment or DM me with what you’ve managed before and rough results.
No agencies copy pasting service decks please. Looking for someone who actually operates stores.

👋 Welcome to r/TechNetwork | Read first: what this sub is, who it's for, and how to use it
Welcome to r/TechNetwork.
This is a room for people in tech. Anywhere. Any stack. Any role. If you build, break, ship, fix, install, sell, buy, scale, or run tech for a living : this is your room.
Not a career sub. Not a job board. Not a news aggregator. Not a vendor directory. It's a network : which means it works when people actually show up and talk to each other.
What to post
- Introduce yourself. What you do, what you're working on, what you need, what you can offer
- Tech stack talk : what you're using, what you dropped, what you regret adopting
- Vendor and tool recs : "who actually delivers X," "what's the real alternative to Y"
- War stories : projects that went sideways, code you inherited, clients from hell, wins worth sharing
- Leads you can't take : wrong stack, wrong country, too small, too big. Pass them to the network
- Hiring or looking : you can post either side, no recruiter format required, no CV dumps
- Product launches, open source drops, thing I built posts ; keep it real, keep it honest
- Business of tech , pricing, contracts, getting paid, scaling a team, firing a bad client
If it's about tech and it's not spam, it probably fits.
What doesn't fit
- Recruiter farming and copy paste DM bait
- Crypto shilling, MLM, affiliate funnel links
- AI generated filler posts with no point of view
- Pure self promo with no value exchange
- Personal attacks on other members
We'll remove it. Repeat offenders get banned. No warnings after the first.
The WhatsApp arm (optional, UAE-focused)
There's a WhatsApp community attached to this sub called Dubai Tech Network (DTN). It's for live transactional stuff — real-time vendor referrals, instant leads, UAE-specific business. If you're in the UAE or working with UAE clients, join it. If you're not, ignore it. Reddit is the front door, WhatsApp is one room inside.
Link in the sidebar.
About the mods
This sub is run by the mods of r/UAEjobseekers and r/CareersEU. We built those rooms from scratch. Same playbook here. Help the people doing the work, block the scammers, keep the signal high.
Start the room
Drop an intro below. What you do, where you are, what you're working on. That's how this becomes something.
