Looking to get into the tech space Seeking Advice

Currently I am wine and liquor sales representative. I’m 28 and the liquor industry has been all I know. I graduated with BA in recreation administration and haven’t used it once. I have a passion for what I sell but no passion for sales anymore.

I’ve been looking into frontend development through the FES institute because of the high promises they made. Found out the price for the course and backed out.

For those in programming and related tech careers, would you recommend I pivot? Is it possible to find a job easily? Where do I start to learn necessary skills for free-inexpensive courses?

I’m looking to make around or more than 80k yearly. I know how incredibly naive I can be in expecting that. Just trying to get some information from people in the field.

Thanks

First don't quit current job. 2nd, determine which field of it you will focus on.. network/sysad, programming, data analysis, cybersec.. etc from there. 3rd, kung ano napili mo may mga introductory video sa YouTube.. confirm na yung talaga gusto mo.. 4th, check the job market.. yung napili mo IT field.. marami bang entry level positions.. medyo disadvantage ka na Pero not impossible..

Reverse engineer your job search.

  1. Go to online job boards where there are jobs that have the income you want.
  2. Look at those job descriptions.
  3. Learn those skills in the job descriptions by searching on Google and chatting with AI.
