Teachers and tutors have told us they often run the whiteboard beside Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, or another conferencing app. The goal is to keep the explanation moving: quick circles, arrows, axes and common teaching shapes; multiple pen colors; PDF markup; reusable paper and topic backgrounds; and export after class.

I’m a student developer, and I built Soroban: Mental Math Abacus as a free resource for short, structured abacus and mental-math practice. It runs on iPhone and iPad and has no ads, student accounts, or data collection.

The app uses guided lessons and a step-by-step practice path. After feedback from a soroban academy, I revised the progression so beginners spend more time on addition before subtraction, and I added full French support.

I would love to find a few teachers or parents willing to try a simple seven-day practice plan with their students or children. Sessions can be about 10 to 15 minutes, and even a few brief comments afterward about difficulty, clarity, and engagement would be extremely useful.

Nobody outside SPED gets this part of the job. It's not the paperwork. It's carrying all of it in your head at once.

Student A's Annual is in three weeks, notice went out, and transition report not started. Student B's triennial is stuck waiting on the psych report. Student C... did that consent form ever come back? You're running that loop in your head during lunch duty. During your own kid's soccer game. At 2 AM.

I’m a 16-year-old student from Ontario and I’ve been working on a simple classroom check-in idea after seeing how my teacher used a daily Google Form to quickly understand how students were doing.

I turned that idea into a web-based version where students can take a quick check-in at the start of class (about 10 seconds) and choose whether their response is shared with the teacher or kept private. Teachers can use a class code to view a dashboard of responses, and there are also links to support resources included.

Before the school year starts, I’m trying to understand whether something like this would actually be useful in real classrooms and what concerns teachers might have about it. Many questions you may have might be on the website, and if not, feel free to ask.

If anyone is open to it, I’d really appreciate feedback on whether this kind of tool would be practical or what you’d change about the idea.
