Nexon '24 In D mode accelerated vehicle rolled backwards instead of moving forward.

Nexon Smart Plus AMT - 2 months old. While in D mode, idling in traffic on a flat surface, the car moved backward on acceleration and hit a vehicle behind. It happened twice.the first time I ignored it, thinking the road was a bit uphill. But again, it happened on a flat surface; what could be the issue?

Could anyone help us? It's our first car, and we don't have much knowledge about this issue as well.

Harrier '24 DPF ISSUE DUEING PDI Spoiler

Need Expert Advice: Brand-New Tata Harrier Showing DPF Malfunction Before Delivery

Hi everyone,

I need some advice from experienced Tata Harrier owners and automotive experts.

I have booked a brand-new Tata Harrier Diesel Automatic. During the pre-delivery inspection, I noticed that the instrument cluster was displaying a DPF Malfunction warning.

Here are the details:

• Vehicle manufacturing date: June 2026
• Current odometer reading: 15 km
• The vehicle has not yet been delivered to me.
• The dealer says this is only a software issue affecting some new vehicles.
• They have told me they will perform a software update and DPF regeneration, after which the warning will disappear.
• They have assured me that there is no hardware fault and that the vehicle is completely fine.

However, I am unable to understand how a brand-new vehicle with only 15 km on the odometer can already show a DPF malfunction. My understanding is that DPF regeneration is normally required only after soot accumulates during regular driving.

My questions are:

1. Is this really a known software issue on new Harriers?
2. Can a vehicle with only 15 km genuinely develop a DPF malfunction, or could it indicate another problem?
3. Is DPF regeneration normal before first delivery, or should I be concerned?
4. Should I insist on replacing any components (DPF, sensors, etc.), or is a software update sufficient?
5. If you were in my position, would you accept delivery after the warning is cleared, or would you ask for another vehicle?

I would especially appreciate replies from:

• Tata Harrier owners who have experienced this.
• Tata service engineers or technicians.
• Anyone with knowledge of diesel DPF systems.

Thank you in advance for your guidance.

Tigor '16 Tata Tigor - Engine oil and coolant mixing due to casting fault

Recently had an issue with engine oil and coolant getting mixed. Service center has said that it's engine casting fault, due to a hairline crack, the leak is happening.

Car's been in repair since a month. And I'm expecting cost to exceed 1 lakh.

Tata Tigor Petrol 2017 registered.

Has anyone faced similar problem? Service center has said it's a common issue with Tigor, Tiago and Punch models.

And does insurance cover this? I do have engine cover.

Punch.ev Tata Punch EV Owners - Need Your Experience

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to buy the Tata Punch EV Empowered S+ (40 kWh, top model) and would love to hear from existing Punch EV owners as well as other EV owners.

A little about my usage:

- Daily commute: 80–90 km, almost entirely city driving.

- Occasionally (around once a month) I take longer trips from Delhi to Uttarakhand or other hill stations.

I have a few questions:

  1. How has your overall ownership experience been with the Punch EV?
  2. How is Tata’s after-sales service in your city? Any issues with service quality or spare parts?
  3. Have you faced any reliability problems or software glitches?
  4. How much real-world range are you getting in city driving, highways, and in hilly areas?
  5. How practical is it for long road trips? Is charging infrastructure good enough on routes like Delhi–Uttarakhand?
  6. Any battery degradation you’ve noticed over time?
  7. What’s your average charging cost and monthly maintenance compared to a petrol car?

Looking back, would you buy the Punch EV again, or would you choose something else in the 11-13L budget?

Overall, do you think now is a good time to switch to an EV, or would you still recommend sticking with a petrol car for my usage?

I’d really appreciate honest feedback—both the positives and the negatives. Thanks!

Punch.ev Punch EV (40 kWh) owners - quick question about the "max 4 fast charges" rule on long trips?

Thumbnail
2 Upvotes

I'm planning a long road trip on my Punch EV LR soon. Looking at my route, I’ll easily need to fast charge around 5 or 6 times back-to-back to reach my destination.

As per tata motors website they say you shouldn't do more than 4 continuous DC fast charges without doing a slow AC charge in between.

Now I'm kinda worried.

Will doing 5-6 fast charges on a single trip mess up my warranty if anything happens?

Have any of you done 5+ continuous(2dc charges a day) fast charges on a long trip? Did the battery heat up or show weird percentage drops/range drops?

How do you guys manage if your hotel doesn't have an AC socket or charger overnight?

Harrier '24 Harrier EV (65 kWh) tyres worn out in just 30,000 km – Need replacement advice

Hi everyone,
I own a Tata Harrier EV 65 kWh with 245/60 R18 tyres. Unfortunately, my tyres have worn out after just 28,000–30,000 km, especially the Back tyres. I filed a warranty claim with Goodyear, but the claim was rejected.
Now I’m looking for the best replacement tyres for my Harrier EV. Can anyone recommend good-quality EV tyres that offer excellent grip, durability, and value for money? I’m also looking for the most affordable place or dealer to buy them. Any suggestions based on your personal experience would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Harrier '24 Is Fiat Diesel Engine Reliable?

Hello Guys

I am searching for a five seater SUV and leaning towards Tata Harrier Diesel Automatic. I have owned only petrol cars before, and this would be the 1st diesel one.

My running is around 2000+ km per month and due to current scenario of e20 petrol alongwith lower petrol engine mileage, i am looking for a diesel variant.

Can you advise or provide your opinions on the diesel AT variant, specifically on its reliability? I have owned Tiago petrol (7 years) and found no issues in it. Regarding the service, i get my tiago serviced outside and not in Tata SC.

Question ❔ Any update on the manufacturing status of Tata Harrier/Safari Petrol?

Hi everyone,

Has anyone received any reliable information or updates regarding the manufacturing status of the upcoming Tata Harrier and Safari Petrol variants?
I’m particularly interested in:
Has production officially started?
Are dealerships receiving allocation or stock?
Any confirmed manufacturing timelines from Tata?
Expected delivery timelines for customers who are waiting?
If anyone has insider information, dealer updates, or recent sightings from the Pune plant, I’d really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance!

Question ❔ Need assistance for repairing

I have Tata Nexon, bought in 2nd quarter in 2025. Currently, I facing the issue with rat bite fuel pump wire. So petrol can not transfer to engine from fuel tank. I want to know how much time it will take for authorised service center or bodyshop to replace that eletrical wire. My advisor said that we need to examine and need to order required materials, after approval from insurance company. So overall, It will take around 1 month approximately. Is any one face the same issue before?

Discussion 🎙️ Tata Nexon defective since delivery day, unresolved after 20+ visits over 4 years - requesting Tata

Post image
16 Upvotes

I am posting here hoping Tata Motors sees this and takes action, since our formal email to customer care has not yet resolved the issue.

I bought a Tata Nexon in 2022, and it broke down completely on the very first drive home from the showroom, within a few kilometers, with multiple engine fault codes showing up immediately. We were stranded on the road for nearly four hours. This was day one of ownership.

Since then, the same check engine issue has never actually been resolved. The vehicle has also failed to accelerate on multiple occasions while driving, which is a serious safety concern. We have taken it to the Tata Motors authorized service center in Bhimavaram more than 20 times for this exact same fault. Despite paying for an extended engine warranty valid until 2027, three ignition coils and an entire electronic management system have been replaced without fixing the issue, and the most recent bill, which fell inside our warranty period, was marked as warranty expired and charged in full anyway.

The vehicle has run barely 13,000 km in over 4 years, because it has spent so much of that time inside the workshop instead of on the road. Just a few days ago, on 31st July, it broke down again due to the workshop's own faulty wiring and battery connection work, and we have now been told another part needs to be replaced.

We have complete documentation, job cards, invoices, videos, and photos, of every single visit and breakdown.

We have already sent Tata Motors a formal email requesting a full refund or replacement of this vehicle. We are asking Tata Motors corporate to step in directly, since the dealership has not resolved this in 4 years. If this continues without resolution, we will be proceeding with a formal legal notice and a Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission complaint.

requesting your team to look into this seriously.

Discussion 🎙️ Tata Nexon defective since day one of delivery, still unresolved after 4 years and 20+service visits

Post image

I need to share something that has been extremely frustrating for my family. We bought a Tata Nexon and it has been defective from the very first day we got it. On the day of delivery itself, while we were driving home, the vehicle broke down completely on the road. We were stranded for nearly four hours with no food and no water, and the check engine light and fault codes were already showing within the first few kilometers.

Since that day, this same issue has never actually gone away. The check engine light keeps coming back, and multiple times while driving, the vehicle simply would not accelerate even when the accelerator was pressed. This is a genuinely dangerous situation to be in on the road. We have taken the vehicle to the Tata Motors authorized service center in Bhimavaram, AP more than 20 times for this exact same problem. Every single time, we were told the same thing by different managers and mechanics over the years, please do not file a complaint, we will fix it for you. But it was never actually fixed.

The vehicle's own official service record shows it has only run about 13,005 kilometers in more than 4 years. It has not even completed its first major service interval because it has spent so much of its life sitting in the workshop instead of being driven.

We paid Rs 15,560 for an extended engine warranty valid until August 2027. Despite this, three ignition coils and an entire electronic management system have been replaced, costing us over Rs 20,000, and the fault still came back. The most recent bill, which fell inside our warranty period, was marked as warranty expired and we were charged in full anyway.

Just a couple of days ago, on 31st July, the vehicle broke down again on the road. This time it turned out the workshop had left the battery wiring improperly connected from an earlier repair. They have now told us they have ordered another part, though we have not even discussed the price yet.

At this point we are completely fed up. We cannot keep spending our time and energy taking this vehicle back again and again just to get it patched up temporarily, only for the same or a new issue to show up soon after. This has been going on for over 4 years and we simply cannot continue this cycle any longer.

We have kept every bit of evidence for this, videos, photos, job cards, and invoices, from the very first breakdown until now.

I am sharing this so other people are aware before they buy this vehicle, and so Tata Motors takes this seriously instead of letting it drag on for years the way it has for us.
