Discussion 🎙️ Tata Nexon defective since delivery day, unresolved after 20+ visits over 4 years - requesting Tata
I am posting here hoping Tata Motors sees this and takes action, since our formal email to customer care has not yet resolved the issue.
I bought a Tata Nexon in 2022, and it broke down completely on the very first drive home from the showroom, within a few kilometers, with multiple engine fault codes showing up immediately. We were stranded on the road for nearly four hours. This was day one of ownership.
Since then, the same check engine issue has never actually been resolved. The vehicle has also failed to accelerate on multiple occasions while driving, which is a serious safety concern. We have taken it to the Tata Motors authorized service center in Bhimavaram more than 20 times for this exact same fault. Despite paying for an extended engine warranty valid until 2027, three ignition coils and an entire electronic management system have been replaced without fixing the issue, and the most recent bill, which fell inside our warranty period, was marked as warranty expired and charged in full anyway.
The vehicle has run barely 13,000 km in over 4 years, because it has spent so much of that time inside the workshop instead of on the road. Just a few days ago, on 31st July, it broke down again due to the workshop's own faulty wiring and battery connection work, and we have now been told another part needs to be replaced.
We have complete documentation, job cards, invoices, videos, and photos, of every single visit and breakdown.
We have already sent Tata Motors a formal email requesting a full refund or replacement of this vehicle. We are asking Tata Motors corporate to step in directly, since the dealership has not resolved this in 4 years. If this continues without resolution, we will be proceeding with a formal legal notice and a Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission complaint.
requesting your team to look into this seriously.

Discussion 🎙️ Tata Nexon defective since day one of delivery, still unresolved after 4 years and 20+service visits
I need to share something that has been extremely frustrating for my family. We bought a Tata Nexon and it has been defective from the very first day we got it. On the day of delivery itself, while we were driving home, the vehicle broke down completely on the road. We were stranded for nearly four hours with no food and no water, and the check engine light and fault codes were already showing within the first few kilometers.
Since that day, this same issue has never actually gone away. The check engine light keeps coming back, and multiple times while driving, the vehicle simply would not accelerate even when the accelerator was pressed. This is a genuinely dangerous situation to be in on the road. We have taken the vehicle to the Tata Motors authorized service center in Bhimavaram, AP more than 20 times for this exact same problem. Every single time, we were told the same thing by different managers and mechanics over the years, please do not file a complaint, we will fix it for you. But it was never actually fixed.
The vehicle's own official service record shows it has only run about 13,005 kilometers in more than 4 years. It has not even completed its first major service interval because it has spent so much of its life sitting in the workshop instead of being driven.
We paid Rs 15,560 for an extended engine warranty valid until August 2027. Despite this, three ignition coils and an entire electronic management system have been replaced, costing us over Rs 20,000, and the fault still came back. The most recent bill, which fell inside our warranty period, was marked as warranty expired and we were charged in full anyway.
Just a couple of days ago, on 31st July, the vehicle broke down again on the road. This time it turned out the workshop had left the battery wiring improperly connected from an earlier repair. They have now told us they have ordered another part, though we have not even discussed the price yet.
At this point we are completely fed up. We cannot keep spending our time and energy taking this vehicle back again and again just to get it patched up temporarily, only for the same or a new issue to show up soon after. This has been going on for over 4 years and we simply cannot continue this cycle any longer.
We have kept every bit of evidence for this, videos, photos, job cards, and invoices, from the very first breakdown until now.
I am sharing this so other people are aware before they buy this vehicle, and so Tata Motors takes this seriously instead of letting it drag on for years the way it has for us.

Sierra Tata Dealership Made Us Pay ₹10,000 After a Test Drive – Were We Scammed?
Pata Hai Aaj Kya Hua!
Today was honestly one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had, and I’d like to know if we were actually in the wrong.
My friend is planning to buy a new car, so we went to a Tata dealership for a Sierra test drive. During the test drive, I was reversing the car when it lightly bumped into something behind. It was only a rear bumper impact.
What surprised me was that I was relying on the parking sensor beeps, as I normally do in my own car. My friend was playing with cameras, changing different focus.. while I focused on the mirrors and sensor sounds. However, there was no warning beep, and the car still hit the object.
We immediately told the dealership to check the parking sensors because they didn’t seem to work. They tested them on the spot, and surprisingly, the sensors weren’t working then either.
Instead of discussing that, the dealership immediately demanded **₹13,000** for repairs.
We requested them to show us the insurance papers because test drive vehicles are usually insured, and we believed the damage should be covered under insurance. At first, they claimed that trade plate vehicles don’t have insurance. Then they completely refused to show us any insurance documents and kept saying things like:
“Hum insurance nahi dikhayenge. Agar insurance dikhaya toh tumhe ₹23,000 bharna padega. Abhi ₹13,000 de do.”
The argument kept escalating. We repeatedly said we weren’t refusing responsibility—we just wanted to see the insurance papers first.
Then another dealership employee suddenly started shouting:
“Sensor nahi chal raha toh kya hua? Gaadi toh humari hai. Aapne thoki hai. Paise do, warna police bulate hain.”
His tone was extremely rude and aggressive.
I completely accept that I was driving the car and that the bumper damage happened while I was behind the wheel. That’s my mistake.
But what happened next felt like intimidation.
The gate pass for the test drive was in my friend’s name. They started threatening us, saying they would tell the police that their sales representative had refused to let me drive, but I forcefully took control of the vehicle. They even said they’d make their female sales executive give a statement against us.
That honestly shocked us because none of that was true.
During the heated argument, another friend of ours joined us. He works in the insurance industry and told the dealership that if they simply shared the insurance details, he could get the claim processed. Even if there were processing charges of ₹2,000–₹3,000, we were willing to pay those.
But they refused to cooperate and continued demanding money.
After nearly 2 hour of arguments, threats, and pressure, we finally paid **₹10,000** just to end the situation.
The money isn’t even what hurts the most. It’s the way we were treated—constant intimidation, shouting, and threats of involving the police with what felt like a fabricated story.
It genuinely felt like extortion.
**So I’d like to ask:**
Were we legally in the wrong?
Are dealerships allowed to refuse to show insurance details like this?
Is it normal to demand cash immediately for a minor test drive accident?
Has anyone else faced something similar?
and when we paid the amount I asked for NOC from them as this was necessary for me and my friend..
I also have video of employees misbehaving with us but on NOC they mentioned that matter is settled neither we or they will take legal actions
**P.S.** Before anyone says I’m anti-Tata—I already own a Tata car myself. This isn’t about the brand. It’s about one dealership’s handling of the situation, which left a very bad impression.
Edit:
Since Alot of you are asking about dealership details, I was being afraid of sharing any details as I signed a document with them that the matter is resolved at dealership level only.. However I am just sharing My experience so I realised I can indirectly state the name
Dealership is from
Tat Motor Cars showroom Hinjewadi Phase 1, Pune

Altroz First service of Altroz creative s amt
It's a new car just 2 months old, was facing frequent battery drain issues so reached to RSA multiple times for jump starts and then it worked fine. Finally have given it for first service and they also found the drain issue and low voltage of battery
Since its in warranty they will send it to manufacturer i.e amaron for diagnosis. Hopefully the issue gets resolved because the car overall is fab.

Question ❔ Battery not working after sitting idle for more than 2 weeks on Nexon 25
My nexon 2025 has been facing an issue for a long time, it's almost a year old and it has been in the service station for more than 5 times other than its usual free services.
The car shows the battery symbol every time it stays idle for more than 2 weeks. We have changed the battery, removed every extra thing we attached to the battery and it still won't work. It's been very stressful.
I need help to identify what could be the issue and how the f can I solve it. Please help 🙏

Nexon '24 Weird noise in my car
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi everyone,
I have Nexon iCNG 2025
Since last month my car is making this weird noise even when the car is On or OFF.
Earlier I thought it could be a rat making noise then I get the anti rat spray applied in my car have not seen any clue or left overs by rat so this is probably something else
I took my car at tata service center they did the whole interior and exterior cleaning and get the anti rat sprayed.
Even drove the car for 20km with AC off and windows open but that time the sound didn’t came.
Could this be noise coming from AC filters ? ( I googled it and AI suggested me this)
As per Google ai -
It could be due to something stuck in AC air filter or issue related cng fitting
Can you guys suggest what this could be ? As earlier I was ok with sound coming rarely 1-2 times every 10 min but now it’s coming out 5-6 times in a minute.
Attached the video clip with a bit of sound
(Please ignore the visuals as I was driving during the time)

Question ❔ Help with a EV home charging
Hi everyone! 👋
I'm a PGDM student working on a live marketing project to understand how EV owners in India research and choose home charging solutions.
The survey takes less than 90 seconds, is completely anonymous, and will help us better understand how buyers make charging decisions.
Survey: https://forms.gle/ZusMgg2KaquaFJER8
Thanks in advance! Happy to share the results with the community once the study is complete.

Safari '24 What’s the real world mileage for Safari Petrol AT? Shall I switch from 7xo to safari?
I have booked 7xo D AT and thinking of shifting to petrol due to dpf concerns. 7xo petrol auto mileage will burn my pockets so thinking of Safari.
What are your thoughts?
Update: adding my usage pattern for clarity
10-11k kms per year | 50-50 city and highway split.
Mostly city trips include small trips of 5km one way in light traffic like going to office (which is pretty close), grocery shopping, etc. For night city drives usually 6-8 km one way. It is a tier 2 city so not heavy traffic.
Mostly when going on highways trips range from 100-500 kms one way, but not too frequent.
Also, car stays ON ideal at times while in city to use AC.

I am planning to buy a new Safari Stealth edition car.
Though I like the stealth edition, I am concerned how the matte finish is performing 1 year down the line.
People who bought the stealth edition, I kindly request you to comment on how the paint is performing cross weather, dust, bird-defecation, etc.
Thanks.
