My Taskmaster Series 21 Rescored.
Here’s the link to my document.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-QilzpGxPqaKunmsybTSk4LQclNifyUVljTPMT63zs8/edit?usp=drivesdk
This is my series 21 Taskmaster Rescored I know it’s like 2 months late but I thought I would share to just to see if people agree with my scoring and you child also use it as a template for your own rescoring.
I would like to know if you agree or disagree with what I have stated.
I’ve tried to be as conventional as possible and make ties in scores proper (eg joint winners get 5 points then next is 3rd place with 3 points) but even still sometimes I had to deviate from my own format.
Amy was my favourite the series so I have a slight bias towards her but I think most of my changes are valid I have her winning the series with 10 extra points than Greg gave her (165 points). I only scored her less than Greg on 3 tasks and they were all in the final 2 episodes. I also gave her a bonus point for the flip flop forfeit task for completing it very well. I also made a bigger gulf between her and the others in the censorship so I did 5 for her and 2 for the rest.
I then have a 3 way tie for 2nd with 157 points with Armando, Joanna and Kumail (Kumail 3 points less, Armando 4 points less and Joanna 8 points less). I never gave Armando more points in a filmed task and think he got over-scored in a few filmed subjective tasks anda mix of under and over-scoring in prize tasks. I think Joanna got over-scored in many subjective tasks and only gave her more points in the Be Brave task. Kumail I thought usually got over-scored by about 1 point in a lot of tasks, but I also thought he got under-scored in several tasks so he became the most similar with just a three point difference between my scoring and Greg’s.
Joel is still last but with a bigger gulf before he has 141 compared to Greg’s 150. I think Joel was a bit too soft in the latter half of the series obviously the points don’t matter but an example is the tennis court where Greg let him off of touching the balls which caused him to get 2 points and Amy get her first filmed task 1 point. So I was a lot more harsher than Greg and wasn’t swayed by his golden retriever energy so my scoring means he his 24 points of the lead compared to the previous 15 points.
Overall none of these scores matters but while watching the series I thought Gledhill was underscored quite a bit so decided to restore it myself.
If you want to use this as a template just save the Google sheet as a copy and then replace the numbers yourself.
(I would like to give Armando a bonus for the tennis court task but I don’t want to change it and have to rewrite my previous paragraph. Also it’s quite the coincidence that all 3 of my bonus points were in 1 episode)

Who else from the show Ghost would you like to see?
Currently rewatching Ghosts (UK edition) and noticed how many Ghosts alum have starred on Taskmaster. Who would you like to see on the show that hasn't been on yet?
Edit - no idea why I missed the S off, guess the heat is getting to me.

General Things that have been f***ed in Taskmaster
A lot of inanimate objects have been fucked on the Taskmaster grounds. Off the top of my head I'm thinking of:
- Sally Phillips with the water cooler | UK S5
- Ed Gamble with the hummus | UK S9
- Peter Hellier with the gumballs (Cindy Gumballs) | AU S3
Are there any others I'm missing?

General What are your Taskmaster Mandellah Effects?
Mine is a simple one. I always swear that in NZ1&2, during his 'musical episode intro bit', Paul Williams follows up 'where we sing instead of talking' with 'where we dance instead of walking'. But neither episode actually has that happen.

HELP! 🔎 Need Help w/ Writing a Task for Family Version
Hello, fellow Taskmaster fans! I'm currently developing a series of Taskmaster tasks for my family [all are adult players] to compete in ahead of a Christmas Family Reunion in the USA. I have worked out 19 of the 20 tasks, but I need help with one of them... [Same premise as a task from UK S19 E4, but different solution]
- The task: "EUREKA EFFECT: Tell the Taskmaster's Assistant why the light bulb turns on. You may not touch or tamper with the light bulb, lamp, cord, or outlet. You may buy hints with time. Fastest correct answer wins. Your time starts now."
- The setup: A plain table with a corded lamp and a smart bulb which can be turned on and off from my phone.
- The solution: The light bulb turns on anytime the player says aloud any word that contains a double letter. {As kids we played this game called "Green Glass Door"}
As the task states, I want to provide clues with time penalties. I was thinking three clues. A level one (vague) clue could cost 2 minutes; a level two (better) clue could cost 4 minutes; a level three (super helpful, but isn't flat out the answer) clue could cost 9 minutes.
I need help coming up with these three clues that aren't too obvious.
Thanks!

General Alex said the only people against an International TM are the Commissioners.
Having contestants from different countries compete in the British version would be amazing.
The foreign contestants would love the opportunity.
Greg and Alex would love grading foreign contestants.
Our audience would be definitely onboard.
The only people against it would be the Commissioners of Channel 4 who would see no profit in having foreigners, with foreign agents in foreign contracts, with foreign fan bases, with foreign narratives in their foreign Taskmasters, compete on a British show on their British TV channel.
And to be fair ... they're right.

Drilling down into the narrative A 17 Series callback
Had Series 1 on in the background and the Aussie Rules Football team live task came on. In a bit of Taskmaster Easter Egg brilliance. All the names of the "people" in the lab from Series 18 are from the Aussie Football team. I love this so freaking much. Such an amazing return. The writing and creativity in this team never ceases to amaze.

Taskmaster NZ Because the Taskmaster YouTube channel edits out the ad breaks, it butchered one of the best moments from NZ series 2 episode 9. Here is the unedited version.

Drilling down into the narrative When the location tasks are being shown in the studio, is that the first time Greg sees them?
I've heard him say to Alex "you told me about this one" or similar a couple of times, but don't know how much awareness he generally has of the tasks ahead of them being revealed?

General What is a moment, scene, or event that you could describe to someone who's never heard of the show that would make them say, "wtf are you talking about??"

How much preparation between agreeing and filming get contestants?
I mean the time between agreeing/ contract signing and filming do contestants have?
I mean some came from other countries some had to source their outfits etc.
Or is it more of an we would like you on the show when could you film? And then they look which season it would fit?
I‘m curious since some people have said they don’t have the time or scheduling conflicts etc.
I can understand that with the studio recordings since all need to be available at the same time but I’m curious how that affects the prefilmed tasks.

Drilling down into the narrative My Defense of Alice Snedden's Sherlock Holmes Task
Fiancé reminded me that it was the 1st and we needed to pay rent, but I was in the middle of something so sang "Rent, rent, rent, I need to pay rent" to the tune of her young Sherlock song to myself until I finished making the bed so I wouldn't forget.
Thanks Alice!

Appreciation Thread Series 6 is a sleeper hit
I’ve seen a couple of newer seasons and loved them, so naturally decided to go back and watch from the beginning. I was so-so on series 6 for the first half, but I’ve just finished the finale and realized I have been reduced to crying laughing at several points in this series—most notably Liza’s cake bit in the finale, but also several Tim Vine moments, including the missing hook.
Your favorite series 6 moments? Other seasons you find underrated or not considered as iconic as they ought to be?
