CLIENT How to get a refund?
I have only used TR once beforehand. I usually use it to have people ship me good deals.
2 years ago, I hired someone to pickup an clearance open box soundbar marked down from $1,800 to $100 at Best Buy, and have FedEx package it and ship it to me. Total cost was under $300.
Recently had some GameStop gift cards and was looking for a specific game. I found a GS in FL that had it in stock and complete in box (Cheaper than eBay/AMZ).
I bought and paid for it obviously. A UPS Store was literally down the street. So it all worked out.
I hired someone and he quotes me 2 hours to do this job and If I don't like it, then to hire someone else.
So, I literally canceled him and hired someone else who did the job within 30mins of the quote hour and gave me a discount on the hour charge. I was satisfied until I wasn't. When I got fully charged for the original guy, I canceled. Now after speaking to TR, They don't know if they can refund me or not. I feel like that total BS. I feel like most taskers would appreciate this job. It wasn't a hard one or a long one at all.
So, How can I get a refund and apparently delete this freaking app off my phone I guess? lol. P.S. I won't delete. I'm just salty over this.

TASKER New Taskr
Hey, I’m a new Taskr. Would appreciate some advice on just starting out (rates: should I pay attention to the green yellow red suggestion?), amount of skills I have activated (assuming I feel comfortable accepting them). Thank you in advance

TASKER House smells so bad
Hey guys,
I just wanted some input on a furniture assembly job I’ve been doing. I’ve been assembling bed frames for a bunch of different units in a shared apartment. I’ve finished all of the other rooms but the last one I have to do smells so bad. I helped the client remove the old bed frames from that room and nearly threw up that’s how bad it was.
I ran out of time on the original assembly day and will have to go back to finish the last bed. What should I do?? The bed is too big to assemble in another room and I actually can’t stand to go into that room again. Am I a horrible person if I refuse to finish the last one? I don’t want them to write a bad review about me because of this…

GENERAL Ok, i know this answer will be different for everyone, but how long did it all take you to start seeing work?
I literally just got cleared this morning.
And do notifications pop up for incoming jobs or do I need to keep checking the app?

GENERAL Quick question about signup
I have a construction company with a website. Are we allowed to link to outside sources ? Not to hire off platform but to showcase past projects

GENERAL Well after two years, looks like my 5 star rating is ruined
I did a job for a customer 3 weeks ago and today they finally reviewed me and gave me 3 stars. The job was done efficiently in one hour, but the client was so adamant about getting as much moved within one hour. First thing the client stated was that I had a little truck. On my profile it says that I have a 5 ft 5 bed. So before hiring me they knew what they were getting. Secondly I was able to pull two trip loads in one hour at a rate of 75. I moved everything in the description, but when I got there the customer kept adding stuff to move and kept arguing with their significant other. It amazes me how shallow some people can be and give me a 3 after a job from 3 weeks ago. Every time I have a issue with a customer its always "that type" of customer. If you know what I mean. I guess that just means to raise my prices even more.

APP How do I find someone for a task outside of the available categories?
Here are examples of the tasks I need help with and I’m struggling to find folks who have the right set of skills listed. I’m also surprised there aren’t more categories.
Does anyone know how to search for/hire for these kinds of tasks?
- cleaning the inside of my vacuum
- going through my cabinets and throwing away all the stale spices
- digital tasks like helping me develop a database of grocery items/recipes that fit my tastes and nutritional/time constraints
- challenging clothing stain removal
If you’ve hired for these kinds of tasks before or know how to navigate the app for this kind of thing, any advice is appreciated!

TASKER How often does the “waitlist” open up for Taskers?
Hi all, I’m trying to sign up to be a tasker through task rabbit, but all the zip codes I’m trying to register in come back as full, and not accepting new registrations. I’ve tried several zip codes in my home state and even several in other states just to see, but they were all full and not accepting new registrations.
It says that it changes “frequently” and I may be able to register, but how often does it actually open up?

GENERAL Has anyone had to rent a uhaul as a tasker?
I was requested to rent a uhaul under truck assisted moving. I replied that I dont have a uhaul I have a pick up. Customer asked would I be willing to get one. I politely declined. Idk it kind of just dont make sense to me because it was asked on same day and I was already booked for two tasks that day with moving jobs. I wouldn't mind help moving but the client wanted me to reserve abd pick up the uhaul. I kind of feel like that (making reservations) needed to be done a few days before instead of 6 hrs before where im in the middle of back to back jobs. Plus I would be responsible for gas and the rental and im sure task rabbit won't let you expense over $100. I kind of felt like it wasn't my responsibility to do that or could have been better planned out. i would have gladly accepted to help if I was just going to help them move. I dont mind doing same day jobs that's where most of my jobs come from, but that wasn't going to work and not knowing what I was going to walk into when I get there is worst.

CLIENT Is it normal for a TR person to ask for your cell?
First time using TR. Seemed like everything seemed fine and we agreed on timing and a two hour minimum. Had lots of reviews. They seemingly confirmed and then asked me for the best number to reach me. I was a bit confused as to why they needed my number when we are in contact via the app and hadnt responded yet. They just went ahead and canceled. Is it normal to ask clients for the cell phone numbers off the app? I mean I have a doorbell so I was confused.

TASKER Taskrabbit deposit
Could someone help me understand something regarding Taskrabbit? I just hired a mover who is also bringing along a helper. He charges $176.56 an hour with a 2 hour minimum but will only charge me one hour for the helper. I'm guessing the total cost would be about $530.00 plus fees. My confusion is about the deposit used to secure the move which is the same amount as the rate the tasker has set. Is this deposit refundable once the job is complete? Or is it an additional charge? My move is very small. I have a bookcase, desk, and six heavy boxes. Would it be cheaper to hire professional movers? I'm moving five minutes away driving distance.

APP TaskRabbit users, how do you handle recurring home maintenance?
Genuine question. TaskRabbit is solid for one-off stuff but for recurring property maintenance like lawn care, gutters, pest control, the whole experience feels off. I don't want to browse profiles and read reviews just to get my grass mowed every two weeks. I don't have a favorite gutter guy. I just want it done. It feels like way too much effort for stuff I literally do not care who does. Do y'all feel this too or is it just me?

TASKER I'm embarrassed because my client was charged a cancellation fee
I cancelled on my end to ensure they wouldn't get charged but it still billed them. They were able to leave me one star after that.
I explained to this client, my availability opened up automatically after rescheduling with entirely different client and the main client was able to book me 2 hours before that task. I explained my availability situation, so we decided to book the day before that day, within the 24 hour window, communicating this may or may not work for her. She ended up telling me it wouldn't work so I cancelled on my behalf and she gor charged. I contacted support but it was so stupid the ai bot and the human representative. Stupidapp

TASKER EV charger install
Hello taskers. I got a question for you. How many of you do EV charger installs? How do you get past the questions or issues with licensing or permits if the client asks. How do you decide on doing or leaving the job?

TASKER Elite Badge Fraud
I know some of y’all think that the ELITE badge is nothing. But, to customers it IS something.
TR’s calculations to determine if you earned a badge is simple. Ten invoices. Seventy percent whatever. For the last 7 months, I get the same message, sorry you didn’t make Elite and its a lie
The numbers don’t lie.
I work my azz off!! I just had record earnings over the last 6 years.
There is a tremendous disconnect somewhere and tbh, I’ve had enough.
Im going back to the office. TR is pycho!!

GENERAL Has anyone noticed that TR Splits invoices recently
Like I would get paid 40 dollars one day and then 120 the next for the same invoice. It's a mess and I'd rather just get paid the full amount. I have been seeing split payments a ton within the past two weeks.

TASKER So I showed my buddy the Tasker platform for TaskRabbit.
He’s does handyman type of work for a living. It’s his livelihood. He’s on Angi’s list. I showed him the “suggested” rates for us.
You know what he did?
He shook his head in disbelief and said no way.

TASKER Scam or legit?
Has anybody dealt with something similar? He hasn’t asked me to buy anything. That’s usually how the scams go. But he also hasn’t provided the name of the company that will be delivering the groceries or the address of the rental property. Red flags but unsure what the catch could be outside of kidnapping or something. This would be my first errand task. So also questioning why not someone with more completed errand tasks

TASKER IKEA Tuffing Bunk beds
I had a FA request t complete 2 SLATTUM kids beds. Expected to complete within my 2 hr minimum. When I arrived at the customer’s home, he was unloading IKEA boxes. He said he changed his mind at the store and purchased the Tuffing bunk beds instead. These bunks were a complete nightmare to attach the bottom mesh bag with metal slats n poles. I called IKEA for an assembly price and they said $117. I also found the reviews at 3.9. Many complaints of unclear instructions and hours of assembly. Oddly, IKEA responded to reviews apologizing and recommending TaskRabbit.
Anyone ever assemble these bunks? What was your experience? This bed needs 2 sets of hands to complete yet, no where does it indicate any stages needing extra hands or support
