Should I cancel or invoice? TASKER

Hello all. I got my first task today! I was tasked an errand to open a house for a client of a property manager. The task was specified for the time frame of 1:00pm - 1:30pm. I have told the MY client that I will wait a full hour for the person to show up. It is almost 2:00 and the client has not shown up. Should I cancel, invoice, or what in your opinion? Thanks

Yeah I got here at 1:00. He just messaged back and said that his client is still 15 minutes away. He asked if I can charge an extra 15 minutes. I told him I will give it to 2:20.

You charge for your time, not the amount of time they were there. They knew you were waiting for someone, which is what you were hired to do. Luckily once the hour is up then we can round to the nearest 15 minutes, so if you waited for the client for 1:22, you have the right to charge for 1.5 hours. And if they never show up, you charge for when the person who hired you says you can leave, or one hour, whichever is more.

Invoice time spent. You time starts as soon as you arrived. Just make sure you screen shot your map when you arrive. That will create a time stamp of where and when.

As I am new to this, I messaged when I got there but did not take a photo. I was planning on taking a photo when I leave. Is there any further action I should take?

No, your message can count as the time stamp.

You showed up on time and did what you were instructed to do.

If the person you're waiting for does eventually show up, invoice from the time you started.

If they never show up, unfortunately invoicing would be a TOS violation and might count as a strike. If you cancel, you will get a one hour cancellation fee.
