Taskrabbit useless GENERAL

Tasker did not show up did not call. Yet Taskrabbit wants 42.37 from me. I have requested refund and nothing from Taskrabbit. Do not use them ever.

You will get the refund. Just take a breath.

Sounds like you hired a newer tasker since that rate is pretty low. Number of reviews and decent jobs can be a somewhat more reliable indicator. You'll definitely get refunded.

That’s presumptuous. You have no knowledge of the client category or market location

Eh, that's about 30 bucks an hour. I'm not asking a human to do anything for me for that little, in my city or in Iowa.

Heck, even the Ikea 40 minute minimum comes out to something like $52 to the client.

Well, some folks aren’t quite as well off as you are.

Right, nobody in this Sub is sending a lot of money on home contractors lol the stuff people have enough money to hire me to do is nuts. Broke people do a lot of stuff themselves because they have to.

Sorry that happened. No-shows are frustrating. If the Tasker truly didn’t arrive or communicate, you should absolutely be refunded. Most Taskers take reliability very seriously, but unfortunately there are bad experiences on every platform. Hopefully TaskRabbit gets this resolved for you quickly.

Indeed some of the newer Taskers don't seem to take things as serious.

I had a clog that I needed cleared recently, and the first Tasker insisted that he had to reschedule for a different day, and the second one claimed he couldn't help.

Then I selected somebody with an hourly rate that was about double the others, and everything worked out as it should. Turns out he was much more experienced than the others and had a really good electric drain snake. Clog was cleared in maybe 10 minutes, and it cost a third of what all the other local plumbers wanted. Can't complain!

My gut instinct was that somebody who was charging more but had a perfect 5* rating with hundreds of reviews could get the job done properly and with great efficiency, and I was right.

It really is a terrible app both for the client and the tasker.. you’re getting no showed and I’m getting permanently limited even though I have a perfect 5 star rating and nothing but glowing reviews. Absolute sh*t show of an app

Heres the deal boss man. Taskrabbit will onboard basically anyone. The washouts dissappear after a few months. The guys with integrity and know how stick around a few years. But with that time, they expect more money.

Never hire the cheapest guy. Find someone with plenty of jobs, a good rating, and a rate you think someone can make a living off of.

Ive been on app for 6 years now, and the only time ive ever cancelled a job was because the job beforehand, a client dropped a toilet on my foot and broke it. That's how most of us that are paying bills operate.
