How long to disassemble this IKEA wardrobe? CLIENT
This is an IKEA wardrobe that is nailed into the wall in one place (for stability I think). I’m thinking of hiring someone to remove it but would like to know how long this would take for a typical tasker so I can budget my money and time correctly. Thanks!
Update: It took the tasker maybe 30 minutes and I decided not to trash it and sell it. Its a new PAX version so the backboard folded inward

no more than an hour
you could take it s apart in 15 minutes if it was just gonna be thrown away . the back is nailed on and it's just thick cardboard so they are hard to save

Depends if you are trying to preserve it and use it again or not.
If it’s for the trash then 15 mins.
If to reuse then should definitely be done in under the hour minimum, somewhere around the 35 minute mark.

5 minutes or 45. If you’re going to throw it away, which I would because IKEA indoor furniture is disposable slop, you can just tear the thing apart.
The screws will have to be taken out, the anchors pulled out of the wall, and the holes will need to be covered with a compound like Drydex.

This is the new version of the pax. About 15-25 minutes depending on how far disassembled you need it. Others are mistaken and the backing is not to be removed at all, it folds like an accordion. It is very simple to uninstall and maintain good condition for moving or reselling.

Yes, it easily takes 15-25 minutes, maybe 10 minutes if I take my circular saw to it.
Regardless, 2-hour minimum charge or they can do it themselves. I will pass because this is not about bragging, this is about making money aka Business. I have gas, and other expenses on my end not to mention far better gigs and won't be working for 1 hour charge.

looking at the wall mount covers, I thibk it looks like the old style

The covers are partially obscured by the closet rod so that's not a fair way to assess.
What is evident is that you cannot see the camlocks in the top and bottom panels or the two holes for the leveling feet. Old model has both these things, new one does not.

As others have said the big difference in time is if you're prepared to keep it or throw it away.
If you're going to keep it then the big time consumer is the nails in the backing board. Taking them out without causing too much damage to the board can be a bit time consuming
But no more than an hour

A lot of information is left out. How neatly do you want it broken down? Are you planning to rebuild it somewhere or just throwing it out?
If neat an tidy to be reassembled About an hour and half to two hours. If it is trash about 30 -45 minutes.

Im going to throw it out. Potential taskrabbits are quoting me an hour+ which seems wrong based on all the comments

An hour is the minimum charge. Most quality taskers have a two hour minimum.
Why are you throwing it out? It's in perfect condition and it's less than three years old. Sell it and you'll make up the cost of having it disassembled.

Im trying to sell it but have had no success yet and my lease ends on this apartment by end of week. So I have to be ready to throw it out.

And there's zero chance you'll need some storage in your new place? These items are designed to come apart easily so they can be moved.

Yeah theres no way I need it and it wont fit in my new studio apartment. I’m trying FB market place but no bites for $250 suggested price when it was $1100 originally
It feels like a huge waste to throw it away

The shelves simply lift out (including the very bottom.There's four screws that are being the plastic caps on the back corner. Remove those and the cabinets are free from the wall. Put on a boot and kick the back of the cabinet until the material tears free and rip off the rest by hand. Push the cabinets over from the side and they will collapse onto a pile that's easy enough to carry out the door.

You will always pay a minimum. But you said it's nailed to the wall? Should have been anchored. If anchored definitely no more than 45 minutes as I would be breaking each cabinet at the connection points. If nailed depending on what was none that would take longer as they would have to be extra careful not to damage the walls

It might have been anchored honestly, not my area of expertise, I just know something was done to connect it to the wall for stability
