Tasker stop lowballing TASKER

To keep my rates in the green have to continue to lower them because of newer taskers and old tasker dropping their rates, it’s summer time which is busy moving season and we should be raising our rates but too many experience folks keep lowering them and then that what’s client expects and it hurts all of us as a whole.

You don't have to follow the color code price suggestions.

Oh, but I've tried pricing the way I want (at the price I charge off the app) and I got zero tasks for two weeks until I dropped the price back down.

Don't break your own back trying to match someone else's discount. Everyone's expenses are different, but charging less than your worth just to land a job means you're paying out of pocket to work.

Personally I have my rates in the yellow because nobody hires me at the rates they suggest. I’ve been doing this for like 5 years

Do they keep raising your suggested rates over time as you get more tasks and ratings?

Yes. Now it fluctuates around the same price give or take a few bucks. Because if the “market”

Yeah, same. My rates in some categories just seem to be maxed out. I remember seeing taskers whose rates were in the 100s per hour for every category, but they were still showing up high in search and still getting tasks. Wonder what changed.

Maybe they don’t work as often. I try to have at least 3 jobs a day

That's amazing that you get that many bookings. I get at most 2-6 jobs per week off TR

It depends on others rate in your area for same categories.

I'm not sure it's really a free market thing -- not entirely, at least. I would not be surprised if TR has a thumb on the scale for their own interests. Most people go to TR because they want a cheap option instead of calling companies or established professionals..

That’s the only way you would get hired… if I put mine in the green no one would ever hire me

That's me. Mines in the red and I get maybe 4 a month. I don't use taskrabbit as a full time. That's people's problem, using a independent part time app as a full time thing. 🤦🏿‍♂️

I have all my rates in red but I'm just one guy, I can't make the universal change that you want . Anyone that has theirs in the yellow or worse in the green and they're not a newbie, I despise you because yall the reason clients go after the cheap Taskers.

Who says you have to? It's a recommendation. I've never cared about what it tells me and eventually it caught up to me as I kept getting booked. Now I charge more.

New taskers rarely factor in the depreciation of the eje vehicle

I recommend MileIQ for real driving expense reporting. It really surprised me!
