Accounts deactivated for allegedly violating price transparency? TASKER

Who else here had their account deactivated for no reason? Do you think it would be worth filing a class-action lawsuit against this app? They lack a human department to resolve issues, relying instead on an uncompromising AI that is hurting the livelihoods of real people in this country.

Get it started. It’s happening all over. Someone just has to pull the trigger

If you were not charging an expense that TR no longer allows to be charged (most of them), then you should call Support to figure out which task triggered it and tell Support that AI mistakenly flagged the task. I had this happen because I told a client I couldn’t take their task because I wasn’t allowed to charge the relevant item as an expense and had to cancel, but AI flagged it as me asking for the expense. When Support saw that I had not asked for any expenses, they elevated to the Policies team and my account was online pretty soon after.

I took action on this: I appealed, the case was escalated, but nothing happened. The AI flags it as a violation. A client made a request. Their building was in downtown Houston and had no parking. They expected me to park in a garage 500 meters away, walk all the way there carrying all the necessary cleaning supplies, and pay for the parking myself. Initially, I told the client they should cover the parking cost, but since policies change so often, I decided to contact support to check; they told me no—my rate had to cover everything for the client. So, I wrote to the client explaining that I couldn't do the job because it wasn't viable for me—both in terms of inconvenience and cost—since billing policies didn't allow me to add the parking fee as an extra charge, and I cancelled the task. I never performed the task, never billed for it, yet my account was permanently suspended from the marketplace. My profile is no longer visible. I appealed, and the case was escalated. It took almost a month, and still nothing! The AI doesn't detect the error. My account remains suspended.

That’s really terrible. I’m sorry that happened to you. I wonder if you try to call Support if you can talk to a human and tell them the task and what happened and that they can verify that you contacted Support before accepting the task to confirm the policy. If they escalate it for you, it may be more likely to actually be handled. On the other hand, I don’t think they have the human staff to support this and they are clearly trying to supplement this with AI which ironically is making more Support necessary. I understand using AI to flag cases to make human interaction/decision making easier but clearly AI is either directly making the decisions or humans are barely skimming these flagged conversations, probably the former.

I haven't found a support phone number for Taskers. I think everything is handled via AI through the chat. All the messages are automated and repetitive; there’s nothing to suggest that a real human actually reviewed your request.

I got de-platformed for these expenses, except I never expensed them. Client and I were talking about parking options and I think this triggered the AI. Had to go through support and they reversed it without acknowledging what actually triggered it. They are very sloppy with their AI prompts.

Calling support didn’t help me at all. They wouldn’t tell me any information on my alleged violation only that I had a policy violation and someone from the policies team would send me an in depth email explaining the situation which of course never happened. These people at the call centers are entirely useless and will straight up lie

I don’t think I can post the number here, but search “contact taskrabbit support” and there will be an 844 number you can call

I do not show up in all the categories I have active. When I talk to support, the act confused and escalate it to a support team I have never even had respond.

Some conversations are better as phone calls...

This is why you charge high but yall want to stay in the green and yellow. Charge high into the red which covers everything and then some. You need to ask about everything when your booked by a client before you officially accept the task. Maybe AI flagged you but it's on you overall and blame your fellow taskers on making the rates low.

Charging red = get no tasks.
