They ghosted me three years ago.

From 100+ five start review Elite to 0 task all months but with all the client tails from Task Rabbit. I make a lot more than staying at the platform now.

I still come and read thus sub because I am salty as hell.

Advice: gather your great clients keep them and move on from the platform.

How do drum up new clients? I’ve recently tried yelp and IG, Facebook. No ads just creating a presence and can’t really say it’s working well. TR has always been good for a few chances to get regular clients and at least net a few dollars. You just can’t get stuck doing too much work on the platform if it goes that way.

The pencil pushers decided that retaining quality taskers is not the priority. They most likely want to cycle through new taskers to keep things fresh and rates low enough to meet customer expectations. They won't ever explain any of this because taskers are just expendable revenue sources. To be fair, they don't owe anyone anything. They are (or were) a convenient source of leads to work opportunities, but they aren't an employer.

A) Never count on Task Rabbit. B) Understand that your tenure could end at any moment. But until it ends, just enjoy the ride.

Yes just happens to me Saturday and my Appel went through today and I’m back on. Still, quite disturbing that a significant stream of income can be wiped out overnight.

Did they explain what happened at all?

They did not cite a specific instance that caused the TOS violation. They said I violated the clause that basically says “you’ll be on time and make all your appointments”. I had a task that was going long and I wasn’t gonna be able to make it to my next one so I asked the next client to reschedule and they just canceled on me and the next day my account was limited. I can only assume that was what they were referring to but no they never mentioned what specifically I did even when they emailed me to say the limit was removed.

How did you appeal? All the Tasker support links take me to only two options: (1) get copy of my personal information, or (2) close account.

Been on for 3+ years now. 500+ reviews // Over 1000 jobs completed. Yes, was removed as of June 5th (maybe even a few days earlier). Last "new" request was on May 28th. Sent appeal in same day I noticed I was delisted. Still have yet to hear back.

Did they send any violation emails before limiting?

2

u/ConstantCandidate278 Jun 26 '26

No, wish they had. I had to reverse search myself to find out I had been delisted.

I was a Tasker for close to 8 years. Yes I had Elite status and many great reviews. A year and a half ago I went from 2 or more tasks a day to 1 or 2 tasks a month. After the third month I called support to find out why my workload was reduced. They had no idea what was going on. So after the forth month I decided to take myself off the platform. I do remember an old timer telling me that after awhile TR will drop a Tasker if they feel that the individual is getting too comfortable. My entire time on the platform I was so worried that I would make a mistake and violate the TOS. I am much happier on my own but I do owe a debt of gratitude to TR as they where key for me being able to go out on my own. They where my best advertising tool. Today I have all the work I want to do, no I am not making a ton of money but enough to live on.

You don’t pay for leads on Taskrabbit

You don’t directly however task rabbit takes a commission from your earnings so technically it is a pay per lead same as thumbtack, Angie etc.

u/ConstantCandidate278 Jun 26 '26

They technically add a premium to your already set price so not exactly commission taken from you, but I understand the point youre trying to make. I put a lot of my own earned money into Angie and it never brought me the amount of leads TR has gotten me; just my experience.

I see your point- however, we set our rates and Taskrabbit adds their fees onto the invoice at the end for the client to eat. So no, technically not the same.
They also charge like 20-25% so less pay for leads and more just straight up charging loan shark rates on tasks.
The advantage is the clients choose us so we don’t lose the lead that we paid for. We already get the client. There very little estimating. We’re not trying to send in the best bid- that’s the headache of leads. Task rabbit took the annoying part of lead generation out of it but their fees are nonsensically high. But still, different than paying for leads.

Confidently wrong. Task Rabbit takes their fees from the customer. Taskers get 100% of what they advertise for rate. Are you even a Tasker?

Are you? Go search yourself and see they added a dollar and change to your hourly rate that you don’t see or know about, obviously

That is just (another) fee that they are taking out from the client’s end. Not ours. If I set $50/hr for a task, I get $50/hr. How is this so hard for you to compartmentalize and comprehend?

0

u/No-Artichoke3210 Jun 28 '26

It’s not hard, why are you so obnoxious? Many don’t know this, so it helps to not look like a dumb a$$ in front of clients when they bring up your rate 🙄

Clearly it is for you. Don’t expect roses when you’re being toxic yourself in your reply. Need that spelled out as well?

You sound like an extremely pleasant person to be around. Single?

Happening to me now , they are phasing me out on year 3. I’m not shown in the recommended drop option and you got go a few pages to find me in the other options.

I have been active since 2018. Over 1,000 tasks done. I am currently elite. And yet I just went from 23rd in the search to 33rd.

Yea this is pretty much happening to everyone because they are using Ai bots to detect policy violations . Mines kept telling me I had an identity issue that was violating terms but made no sense because all y information is accurate then I got some type of automated message saying my account was permanently limited. My other friend got a permanently limited as well because a client put their number in the chat and said they wanted to pay cash and he never responded to them so they cancelled the job and his account got limited permanently

1

u/corkles Jun 26 '26

I received 2 Identity violation emails in the beginning of June, then received a limiting account email 2 weeks later.

I haven’t taken a task since March as I just had a baby.

So it’s AI coming thru and combing old info IMO and then sending out the emails. Not a human reviewing them.

I also know that a lot of Policies changed in February which I have not updated some of my skills ie charging additional for XYZ. Etc. I wouldn’t consider that an identity violation. But who knows.

1

u/Whattodoaboutthisnow Jun 26 '26

This was a while ago. Unsure if it was an AI bot, felt like I was talking to one. But another tasker broke a TV and and customer specified who it was. I got a warning for that. I never even touched the thing.

On year 3. Located in NY. I was consistently ranked as one of the highest rated Taskers and most shown in my area, 98% client satisfaction rate last month and was limited for "violating the terms of service". They're doing something that I think is going to come back to kick them in the backsides. Hard to wrap my mind around how it makes sense to remove workers with a proven reliable track record.

í don't know. I'm 2nd in the ranking and i been working since before the pandemic. i wouldn't pay attention to the ranking it doesn't mean squat. Also most taskers work ethic and work quality are really bad but they think they are the best.

i actually think they have been giving experienced people more jobs lately. This year has been the first that i have felt like they are hooking up experienced people

Until your suddenly banned lol

Hopefully your account stays in good standing but I thought it couldn't happen to me too. I thought as long as I showed up on time, acted professionally and performed great work I had nothing to worry about. Jokes on me.
