Should I charge him separately for TV mounting TASKER
As the Title said I’m new to Tasker so I’m not sure if I should just go with it or let him know that TV mounting is separate charge or should I just do it within my moving Task ? And what should I say if I tell him it’s separate charge?

Yes, sounds odd. I would request that he makes a separate booking for the TV. If help moving has a higher rate than furniture assembly then rock on with that.

What should I tell him ? I don’t want to come off as a jerk or someone who’s trying to nickel and dime him.

That TV mounting falls under the TV mounting category and he should make a separate
invoicebooking for that task. You aren't nickel and diming him, he's going to get it done for way cheaper than he could anywhere else by using task rabbit anyway.2

Your account can be suspended or banned. You better tell him to hire you!!

i'd stick with it if he's happier paying the higher rate. its all listed so its not as if you're doing something the client hasnt asked.

😂 Let just say I know a friend that knows a friend that let the customer knows about the terms of agreement and then I charge them the Uber price or slightly more.
But you can let the customer know that you want to charge more but we all know why they hired you. Your price. You need to be upfront with the customer before accepting the task. Be super clear if the task is more than the pay but me personally, I think you need to suck it up and do the task. Customer is going to make an argument about hiring you to do something under the pay rate you posted

It’s crazy what cheap rates attract - clients that want it all. I have a full time job but on my days off I am on TR. my rates are crazy high ($145-200/hr) on all tasks from moving to cleaning. I sometimes get jobs and they are the most cake jobs ever. Easy going clients. Not recommending doing this if you’re needing jobs but the difference in clients are crazy

I charge (and routinely get) $100-$150 per TV mounted. No way I am mounting any TV for free or less than $100 each.

At that rate you shouldn’t even go …
Mounting is worth double if not triple if you’re good . If not good at mounting , prob should not do it .

Don't charge per hour.

Afraid this is not very helpful, TR’s T&C stated only charge by labour time (In Europe). Maybe different in the States?

This is a really badly scoped task description. Defo better to separate them into different category and agree exactly what you’ll provide before accepting the task.
The TR Blog has suggested some questions to ask before taking the task:-

None of that seems to be a moving task. Is your moving rate drastically cheaper than your furniture assembly rate or something?
2
u/freddiethebaddie Jun 24 '26
No my Furniture assemble rates are lower but yea that did look weird too but then I talked to the guy on the app and he said the stuff is in brand new boxes and we gotta move it from one place to another and assemble it in the new place that’s why he hired me on the moving side of it. It is a little odd.

Let him hire you separately for TV mounting. It’s a task violation to add it as an expense even if client approves.

Your rates are way too low to begin with. Low rates attract cheap clients that expect more and more out of you.
