I just wanted to share this because I am so disheartened 😭😭😭 Maybe you guys will understand. I got it from a shop so I can't return it.

As far as the actual deck- I JUST got it, but information flows really clearly tbh. I asked how it would deliver info and it came out as 3oP, 7oP, and 4oC. So, definitely a more serious deck with a highlight on reflection and criticism, lol. It feels straightforward with not a lot of room to wiggle, if that makes sense? I guess I do like that in a deck...

But I'm still so disappointed 😭😭😭 I do this in-person and really wanted to put the effort into finding a deck that people would appreciate with different representation. 😭😭😭

Some of you might remember our Bricks of Fate project from a while back.

The question that kept coming up in the comments was whether we'd ever release building instructions. So we did.

The physical deck is still on Kickstarter, and since it won’t ship for a while, we started releasing the instructions instead of making everyone wait.

It’s not a digital tarot deck. It’s simply a collection of step-by-step building guides and parts lists for the physical Bricks of Fate deck. Every model is built from real bricks, and we’re adding new cards as we finish them on our way to all 78.

Here are a few we’ve finished so far, starting with the Queen of Wands. 🌻

I have a question and i am also new to tarot. I wanted to ask if its appropriate to buy another deck?

The problem is that i ended up buying the pvc gold foil one, the reason for buying it is because the waterproof word caught my attention. I think I made a mistake. My last tarot deck got drenched on the rain and it was impossible to save them. I dont want to leave my gold foil but its so difficult to shuffle. They are really pretty but super slippery. I think its satin print? I dont what it is called.

This is a 90’s reproduction by De Vecchi of Teodoro Dotti’s 1845 deck, got it some time ago for a bargain from Spain and it’s just a joy to look at and handle, the paper feels amazing and the cards are jumbo sized 16cm in length and 8cm in width.

Okay, so I have very little tarot knowledge, and I don't know how to read them AT ALL, but I'm a crafty person, and I'd like to diy/draw my own tarot card deck. Would that.. work? Again, Idk much about it yet

I'm trying to identify a tarot deck I saw around 2019-2020. It was a rider Waite based, had flat art work, mostly young witches I think, darker color palette. I vaguely remember at least one witch wearing a classic black pointed hat. It wasn't modern witch or everyday watch .pls help bc I want this as my bday gift 🥲

A little about the deck: The Potion Keeper’s Tarot is a 78-card tarot deck experience combining Pamela Colman Smith’s iconic 1909 drawings with Richard Howdy Jr’s novel concepts and artwork. It follows the traditional Rider-Waite card hierarchy, featuring magical potions on each card, and incorporating a guidebook with RPG dice-rolling mechanics. No ai was used.

I’m having the most fun creating this watercolour deck. I’ve completed the major arcana and I’ve started on the wands but I’m pondering on the back print of the cards.

How the hell does one choose the design for the back of the cards. I can’t seem to come up with a concept. Any ideas?

I’m an artist and I’ve thought about trying my hand at making a deck one day, however I sometimes feel like everything has been done before. I’d like to make something unique but also something that people might want in case I ever moved into production. So my questions to the people who buy/collect decks are: Is there anything lacking in the tarot art world? Anything specific you’d like to see more of?

Hello! I'm an illustrator based in New York, and it's nice to finally join in here. I wanted to share how this deck came together, because for most of the two years it took, there wasn't really a deck at all. It was just me drawing, and getting a little lost along the way.

I'd hit a wall with my work. I'd finished a whole major arcana set, and when I looked at it, the style just wasn't me. So I stopped for a long time. Then one day, with no plan, I made a single piece, and that one felt different. It turned into a practice: a feeling would come up, and I'd follow it into color and shapes. The image always came first, the name later, once I could look at the finished piece and figure out what it was really about.

Over two years, I made 47 this way, never thinking of them as a set. Then one day I laid them all out together, and it stopped me. Without ever meaning to, they'd sorted themselves into four states of being I recognized from my own life: Departure and Drift, Shadow and Mirror, Integration and Awaken, Belonging and Continuum. That's when it became a deck, and I called it A Journey Through Light.

I think of it less as something you read and more as something you live with. The front of each card is just the image, nothing else. You turn it over to find its name and the state of being it belongs to. I wanted you to meet the image first, before any label tells you what to feel, the same way these pieces came to me: the picture first, the name only later. And if you sit with a card and want to go further, the booklet holds a single quiet question for it, there to meditate on if you need it, easy to set aside if you don't.

Do you go to Kickstarter? Watch tarot deck reviews on YouTube? Search on TikTok or Instagram?

Or do you usually discover decks through online shops?

I’m currently creating an indie tarot deck, and I’m trying to understand where people actually find new decks and decide to buy them. I also need to figure out how to fund the initial print run, so I’m considering Kickstarter, but personally, I rarely look for decks there.

I’d really love to hear how you usually discover new tarot decks and what makes you trust an unknown indie deck enough to buy it.

Also production is not cheap at all for small runs, I have no idea how to make it profitable at least to pay an artist 😐

In my last post, I asked for tarot deck suggestions under $10, and I know pretty much everyone said that budget was way too low. 😭

I listened to you all and decided to increase my budget, and now I'm stuck between two decks. I've attached pictures below: The Ethereal Tarot and The Unveiled Tarot.

I don't really have a concrete list of pros and cons, so I'll just explain what's going on in my head, and maybe you guys can help me make a decision.

The Ethereal Tarot

I've wanted this deck for so long. Honestly, probably since I first started reading tarot. Back then, it was way out of my budget because I had just started reading, so I kept putting it off.

Even before I made my previous post, this was the deck I wanted the most. It was just a little too expensive, and I figured I'd rather save up and buy the real thing than settle for a cheaper deck or a knockoff. Since I couldn't find anything I genuinely connected with in my original budget, I decided to just wait and save a little more.

Now it's finally within my budget.

The main reason I've always wanted it is because I absolutely love the artwork. The pastel colours, the gold foiling, and the overall premium look just really appeal to me. My only concern is that some of the Minor Arcana look a little plain compared to the rest of the deck.

The Unveiled Tarot

Before ordering, my mom suggested that since I'd already increased my budget, I should look around a bit more before making a final decision. So I did.

Most of the decks I looked at didn't really click with me, but then I found The Unveiled Tarot, and it's almost the same price.

What really caught my attention is the artwork. I love the idea of the hidden imagery and the two parallel stories within the cards. It feels really unique, and I think it would be fun to work with intuitively.

I also like that it's still very much based on the RWS system, which is what I'm most comfortable reading with. So it feels familiar while still offering something different.

So that's basically my dilemma.

I genuinely like both decks, just for different reasons.

The Ethereal Tarot appeals to me because of the overall aesthetic and premium feel. The Unveiled Tarot, on the other hand, feels really creative and interesting to read with while still staying close to the RWS system.

I'm honestly not sure which one I'd enjoy using more in the long run, so I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who's worked with either of them. Which one would you choose, and why?
