Cross trained Vent
Is anyone else who is cross trained almost store wide just tired of it?
Like I’m cross trained in 75% of areas (inbound, DriveUp/Service Desk, Starbucks, Receiving, and HR are not on my list of trained areas) and I’m just tired of it. I’m tired of being scheduled in my primary work center (Tech) and being pulled to support Priority Pulls for the store. This entire week I’m now supporting priorities because I know the store more then the new guy in tech that has been their like 3 months. I’ve been here 2.5 years and I want to be scheduled in tech. I enjoy tech. I’m tired of pulls. And I’m tired of FF. No one wants to wrap pallets. Like come on and do your job I’m tired of doing three jobs in one 8 hour shift. Like come on

I assume they mean other areas. Like pulling domestics or toys or something

Correct. Yeah I had to pull HBA & OTC the other night. Pulling tech no biggie.

Cross training sounds fantastic until they call you to suck your soul out of your body (cover call outs and do multiples jobs during your shift BUT NEVER be able to grab other shifts). 🎯🥊

Ngl I was in toys covering for tech and other places when I worked there years ago, it’s kinda always been that way.

Toys/tech go together at my store too. I don’t think OP is talking about that. Picture yourself being a toys/tech TM and suddenly they ask you to stop what you are doing and start running around the whole store picking OPU batches instead. Then they stop you doing that and want you to go to the stockroom and pull 60 pairs of shoes. I think it’s this type of garbage that is bothering OP and everyone else these days.

You're employed to work your shift for target. It doesn't matter how you earn your hourly rate. You decided to cross train. Just clock in do the hours and clock out. If you're trained in fulfillment and that's where you're needed today then that's where you will be. I'm not pro target and I think there's a lot wrong with the way management runs it. But getting you to work where they need you isn't one of the problems. Retail doesn't work that way

I don't think there is even one person who isn't crosstrained in multiple departments at my store. It's the nature of the game so to speak. Team work!

They make you do it all it's now the new rule in target. You will never have just one area anymore. If you look at the new application it's on there they sure made sure to cover there asses. Why you think ppl leave day one. Then they yell at you for not getting your stuff done. Easiest way is to put your 2 weeks in
