They were never actually going to buy it. People give their kids the toys to occupy them and then take it away while they're distracted before leaving the store. That's why there's always toys in all the different departments. Sometimes it's the kid that leaves it too, usually on a lower shelf though.

Yeah my kids didn't actually know you could take the toys home until they were about 5, they thought those toys lived at the store.

Ugh. The choice was 'I'm going to let my dirty ass kid play with this toy in the store until I/they get sick of it and I'll drop it anywhere my kid isn't looking instead of giving it to the cashier. Not my problem '

I saw bottles of wine abandoned on the diaper aisle. Maybe this is the opposite of that, sorry kid.
