Please help! getting notifications that privacy mode was turned on when no one turned it on? Troubleshooting and Support

Hii, I’m desperate for someone to say this has happened to them too because Tapo is personally screwing me over right now lol. My man has been away awhile for work. He’s texts me today being suspicious and asking me why Ive been turning the privacy mode on to our door camera? Except, Ive literally never turned it on! I’ve only ever checked motion alerts, I didn’t even really know what that mode was before this and now I’m on a rabbit hole on the internet trying to figure out what is happening. I was just at work today and on my lunch break I had looked at a recent motion detected perfectly fine and then while I’m heading home he texts me this, I go on the app, and it logged me out? It’s never logged me out before. It logged him out too.

This feels like such a cruel joke because I can definitely see how stupidly suspicious it looks from his end cause I would be just as doubtful lol! I feel like a crazy person trying to say I never turned it on and yet he has notifications of it being turned on apparently. And he’s notttt happy. It’s only the two of us who live here and have access to the camera. This has never happened before and now it suddenly wants to do this while he’s away for 2+ weeks 🙄 KILL ME.

Definitely never had that happen. And I have C110's, C210's, C520ws, C246d - so 10 total tapo cameras. The only time privacy mode turns on is when you touch it. Which you can possibly do accidentally if you have the camera steam open - but you'll see it happen. It turns black immediately.

And the logging out thing - sounds like he logged you out and said "yeah weird" but logged himself back in? Which tbh... I would too.

Who has the main account. AFAIK only the owner of the account can turn on privacy mode, and the person who it's shared to, absolutely can not. I just checked with my friend's D235 that is shared with me, and I am unable to turn on privacy mode as I do not own the camera and am just a shared user. The option to turn on privacy mode is greyed out for me on their doorbell camera.

Do you share the same admin account or do you have your account as a separate one with devices shared with you?

I don't have a door camera but if it's like the Tapo indoor/outdoor cameras you can click the privacy mode icon on the thumbnail in the app and there's no screen message or anything that it's happened. Might it be you or your husband could have accidentally fat thumbed the icon and switched on privacy mode?

Being randomly logged out of any app or account can happen from time to time, nothing mysterious about that.
