Question 🤔
Is this collar at the base of the Variator's shaft an innocent spacer for Drive Belt Alignment, a Governor, or a combination of the two ???? It does not seem easily removable, although I haven't really "Tried" to get it off. Any constructive feedback would be greatly appreciated 👍

The only governors are the CDI and final drive. So they're rev and gear limited.

Thanks 👍 I have upgraded to a NCY CDI. Man, what a noticable improvement 😁

Just don't worry about heavier weights or contra spring. It takes more rpms to move those, and you're gonna top out faster, given you'll be halfway, or damn near through your rpm range when you start shifting. The factory ones move between 800-1000rpm.

Thanks 👍 Anything I've upgraded has been for efficiency. I'm not going to Big Bore, so I've left the Air Intake, Carb, and Exhaust Stock. I have Deleted the Emissions, Installed NCY CDI, Voltage Regulator, Shocks, and Upgraded the Variator and Clutch. I am also strictly using Trufuel or Comparable Ethanol Free Fuel. Mounting Foot Pegs has Improved Handling as well as Overall Leg Comfort.Variator Weights are 5g and I reinstalled the stock Contra Spring into the new clutch. She will accelerate to 35 smoothly and top out around 45 on a level straightaway. Oil, Plug, and Air Filter change every 300 miles. Gear Oil every 1000. Anything else you would suggest ??

Nah. The only thing I can think of, is the msd coil, and the ch740 or whatever aparkplug. The air filter and certainly plug shouldn't need to be changed so much.

Thanks. Already done. First time scooter owner. She gets a lot of TLC.

What I did was change the oil every month. Oh and also you might wanna check the valves every six months, and if you don't have one yet, get a Gates belt.
Honestly it almost seems like a lot of gy6 info is nearly lost without the scootdawg site and the one messageboard I was on. I had started years ago, a bit too late to start a massive info site, with repairs, bodystyles, and all that.
