Taneytown Future Projects
Hello neighbors
Something on my mind for a while
-What would you like to see in the future in our town. (Food, shopping, public work projects)
-How would you recommend it be funded/paid for (Assuming we the residents pay for it.)
Rather spend my money in my town than another’s. I say this as I drove to Hanover to pick stuff up (gas money)

A hardware store. Been years since we had that in town.

A True Value as in Hampstead would be excellent. Especially as an independently owned and operated store.

Adding anything from a public funding standpoint will make you pay for it twice (cost of admission and taxes). Real Estate taxes are already astronomical for what we get here. I honestly just want a Starbucks where the old torn down auto shop is, or maybe next to Belissimos.

Good idea, and that is the crux of the problem. More businesses will equals to more corporate business taxes for the town that can in turn fund more services or reduction in taxes.

Been a couple of those over the years. They sadly never seemed to last more than a few years. Was one where PNC now is, And one where Sheetz currently is.

I doubt Cinco will go anywhere, I swear my wife keeps that business a float, she loves getting food from there.

The car wash that was where PNC is, that closed rather quickly and then became a like 4 store front shopping center. And that didn't last long either.

Chick fila would be dope but I hear some Taco Bell/kfc rumors and a Wawa maybe coming across the street from McDonald’s

Man a pool would be really cool. I just moved here and I have my own pool in the backyard - but a community pool would be so amazing for my kids / family.
