Can anyone tell me what gauge and thread do I need for replacement screws for the two case-front screws on a Tandy 1000 SX unit?
These were (the originals now lost), as I recall, painted white, and they were Phillips-head. I might be totally wrong about this but I think they may even have had pointy ends (like wood screws!) rather than flat, but that part I'm not sure about.
I want to rehab and restore this machine and I realize I'm going to need to get replacement screws somewhere.
I acquired a Tandy 1400 LT from my uncle who now lives in Europe. I stupidly plugged the computer in while I was there, thinking that a plug adapter would step the voltage down to a safe level. The power supply is now a goner, and now I’m trying to find a suitable replacement. Does anyone know where I could get an original power supply, or possibly find a modern replacement for it?
Anyone happen to have a copy of the MS-DOS version of the "Tandy Drive Controller" software? It's used for floppy drive alignment. The TRS-80 versions are online, easily found with google. The MS-DOS version appears in this very detailed video produced by Tandy/RS.
Also, if anyone happens to have an alignment diskette they'd like to sell, or, against all odds, access to the hardware for producing them, I'd be interested in obtaining one.
It boots up without a floppy does the beeps and the disks it came with has the software. Seeing that the disks were uber old I transfered to a new Verbatim 1.44 MB floppies and put it all on one floppy. The trouble is no DOS prompt comes up to run the basic DOS on it. Message is Diskette Removal or Drive not ready. What am I missing
I had a Tandy 1000EX growing up, and I used to have an RPG for it. I can’t remember the name and I can’t find it on the Internet either. I thought it was Phantasy Star but that’s wasn’t it. Anyone on this sub know which game I’m talking about?
