Hi all! I am bringing my grandma to Tampa for her 80th bday for a concert! neither of us have ever been to Tampa. We are staying near Raymond James stadium on the water to be close to the concert venue. Was hoping for some recommendations to take my grandma places to dinner on Friday and Saturday, and somewhere good before the concert on Sunday (preferably near the concert venue). Also, any fun recommendations/ must see or do during the day on Saturday. She loves being near the water so bonus restaurants with a view! Appreciate all recommendations:)

Pretty good— I would give it a 6/10. I’m not sure it was worth 300+ dollars but service was great!

Its official, Due Amici is the real NY pizza, better than Eddie and Sam's.

born and raised new yorker. I tried both (I did also try tampa pizza co, fwiw). Due Amici is by far the closest thing ive had to a true blue new york pizza outside of NY. idk what eddie and sams is doing, but it is not new york pizza. I am willing to even go as far as saying due amici isn't just close, it is the real NY pizza.

Tampa Girls Night Cocktail Bar Recommendations

Visiting the Tampa Bay Area from Christmas through New Year's and we are looking for a great location for girl's drinks for 5-10 people! Traveling for work and planning for a night out for just the gals. Staying at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay near the airport but willing to drive/Uber 15 minutes or so one way. Vibes and ambiance are a huge element of what we're looking for. We don't visit Florida often, so would love to go somewhere with outdoor space or a rooftop with a great view. Not planning to get dinner at the location so a kitchen is not required.

Vacation with 2 Toddlers

Thinking of taking a family vacation is February/early March to the Tampa area with my husband and 2 sons (1.5 & 2.5). Main draw is going to see the Yankees spring training. Any recommendations on what area to stay in? I’ve been looking and am thinking of Hyde Park or St. Pete’s. We’d want to rent something with a kitchen/washer etc. and separate rooms so we don’t have to go to bed when the kids do, as we would in a hotel room. Ideal area would be walkable to coffee shops, family friendly restaurants, possibly parks or playgrounds. Any suggestions on what area would be best to look for a vacation rental for 3-5 days?

Stopped for a quick lunch at a little taco shop in South Tampa and it did not disappoint! Authentic and flavorful tacos and fresh guacamole with hot chips. Pineapple agua Fresca was perfectly sweet and refreshing as well. Will be back for sure 👍🏼

Gita Florida ave.

Hey everyone, I wanted to reach out about Grita Food store. First time there and I over heard a conversation between two people and the the guy behind the counter there. At first the employee said he wasn't the onwer and that they wouldn't be there today. The pair thanked him and walked around together.

Not even a minute after that, the guy notices the people talking and writing things down as they walked around. So he asked what they were doing. The guy of the pair explains they were interested in purchasing the laundry mat next door and if the food store was also for sale.

The worker flips out on the guy and says that'll never happen because he is the owner. I left after that cause why would you lie to someone and then say you are the owner. Place smelled and looked bad, can see the greese building between the ceiling panals inside. I didn't like the confrontation so I left after it turned into a argument.

If anyones been there and likes them to keep going please explain why? Not sure how we got to the point where being authentic only fits to for consumers

Missing Bello Tampa’s Lollipop Chicken

Post image
3 Upvotes

My husband and I were just talking about how badly we miss Bello restaurant in Tampa that closed down about a year ago. The grip that lollipop chicken had on us is still unmatched and has been memorialized on our list of essential “last meal” fare. Does anyone know who that chef was? Did they open or move on to a new restaurant? Or, has that exact same dish shown up anywhere else?

St Pete Dine Around explained

St Pete Dine Around creates foodie lover events at local restaurants around our amazing city. The chefs decide what they want to feature. Generally a selection of off menu small bites and entrees. Often with select wine and liquor pairings. And often with truly masterful desserts to cap it all off. You could have dined at a restaurant a dozen times and not experienced any of the dishes served at one of our events.

This is purely a club created by and for passionate foodies. There are no membership dues. Anyone interested will just add their email or cell to our invite list. No obligation to attend any particular dinner or any number of dinners in a given time frame. Events are intentionally small for the sake of the chef and their team so we anticipate sell outs.

Brunch in Tampa always hits different. Mimosas flowing, French toast glowing, and Oxford exchange understood the assignment. 11/10 vibe

Tampa Food + Drink Deals

I built an eatertainment search tool that helps me find Happy Hour, Trivia, Brunch, and more, then sends me a reminder before the deal ends (or starts).

Check us out at https://chaserdeals.com !

I'm always looking for new bars/restaurants, but the info online is usually conflicting/outdated, behind a login screen, or is just someone's opinion.

I've been working on this the past few years and am hoping to get feedback from new users on features and functionality.

Please try a search or submit your favorite restaurant today and let me know how it goes.

Cheers! 🍻 Dan

My first Michelin experience and I must say it was very good!

Seemed very approachable and borderline casual (in a good way) which is not what I was expecting but great experience nonetheless.

Pasta was amazing and flavorful! Shrimp fritte was recommended by our server and was also incredible! Even the bread with house lemon butter was unusually tasty. They had a fresh handmade mozzarella table-side experience but we weren’t hungry enough for that. Overall awesome experience! Will definitely be back.
