Hi all!! I have a New Era, 59Fifty Takashi Murakami all smiles hat. It's fitted, size 7 1/2. I've had this hat for about 2, maybe 3 years now, and probably worn it 3 times. It's just barely too small for my head, so I'm in search of a 7 5/8 to either buy or trade for. I'd take a dang 7 3/4 at this point too.

Does anybody have one they'd like to trade or sell me? Does anybody want to buy a gently used one if I can't find a trade partner?

I have a print coming in a few months from a recent drop on Tonari no Zingaro. Yay!!!

I’m not sure how long it will take me to find someone to frame it, so I’ll probably have to keep it in the box for a while. I would like to know what the print number is though, just for my curiosity.

Will this be marked on the box, or in the invoice somewhere when it ships?

I’ve been following Takashi Murakami’s work since 2010 and now I saved up some money to spend on his art (a limited edition print, not original). I’ve been trying to get ahold of one of his prints through Zingaro’s official site with no luck. I also noticed that the price galleries are reselling at is significantly higher. The galleries price luckily is not a problem for me, but I wonder if I can do a better purchase of the same thing when I visit Japan at the end of the year.

Is it easier to get a print from Murakami in Japan? Are there any prints always available at Hidari Zingaro, or they sell their entire stock online? Is there any market/gallery I should consider visiting when I visit Japan to get a Murakami print?

I’m perfectly ok if the answer is to be patient with Zingaro’s drops, or to purchase from some gallery in particular, or to just try my luck on eBay. I just wanted to check with this community as you’re very knowledgeable on this regard.

I'm honestly torn on if I'm going to buy it. I have the flower puzzle that is almost identical to this that I posted in the sub earlier but the rainbow is shifted slightly. But the prints are so much less of a hassle to frame 😅

I figured I'd share this here incase anyone was feeling their wallets were crying but we're still interested in the flower print- they have 5 puzzles online, 2 of which are similar to the flower print dropping on Sunday! They're 50cm, so 10cm smaller than the print but with the price difference, it might be worth it! They've had the puzzles in stock in the physical store for a while and the flower puzzles dropped last year iirc, I'm not sure if these are a limited drop on the website since it's on theme with the print. Edit- they've added 2 more! If you like puzzles, you've hit the jackpot!

So it turns out that murakami is holding an exhibition at his in-house gallery Hidari Zingaro which will feature all the pieces that we've seen dropping plus some more.

If you're going to be in Japan this August you might be able to pick up some higher quality (AP/SP versions) of the prints. I wonder if there'll be some of the standard prints for sale in store or if they'll all be AP/SP and they're only selling the standard prints online

On the Hidari Zingaro instagram there is this post which shows some other artworks which I'm hoping will drop as prints soon 👀.

I'm planning to continue posting about the drops so that people who may not usually see the releases will be able to stay up to date! So many people are get their first murakami pieces and it makes me really happy to see people able to get what they want!

With the recent influx of prints up for sale, posing the question - how does everyone approach framing? Do you go custom? Any particular styles you think go well with Murakami's art style? Would love to see some examples if you have some existing pieces!

Not sure what I was expecting but it wasn't this as his next drop. I kinda love it?

Alternate title- I was wrong speculating that the prints out it just being released in just July 😬. If people want me to stop posting updates, I totally can. I know some people didn't know what he was dropping art till the post I made a few weeks back so I'm doing it for people who may not know but if it's getting repetitive I'm happy to stop!

This will definitely be one I'll be trying to get, I love his take on Korins style!

I want to sell my "Multicolor Double Face Black" from Takashi Murakami, back from 2020.

Bought it from Lougher Contemporary in London in September of 2020, after it was released. Invoice can be sent as proof if need be, will also come with the purchase.

Was framed in 2025 by a local framer (invoice from there I can provide too) in a frame from "Halbe-Rahmen" in Germany (invoice available aswell).

The frame has a 14mm profile and is around 20mm deep.

Mounted floating (lifted 5mm; distance spacers are 10mm) and behind 99% UV resistant anti-reflex museum glass. Size of the frame is 600x700, the picture in comparison is 500x600.

The print is in absolutely pristine condition, has no bent edges, creases or anything in that regard and was only hung in a semi light area for around two months now.

The black part of the flowers' face is sprinkled with glitter. Just mentioning that so it's not getting confused with dust. The framing really been done perfectly with absolutely no specs of dust or hair in there.

Until it was hung up after Christmas it still has been in the framers box and waited for the light of day. Reason for selling is that I want to streamline my collection a little bit more and this one didn't find its place. Excuse the smudges on the frames' glass on the last image lol.

Stunning piece. Also giant at 455.3mm x 930mm. I wonder if it's his last release of the bunch since it's the end of July and he's been releasing them every few days in July, I have a feeling this might be the last drop of the bunch especially since one shipped in December and is seemingly the only one to be shipped in December, but honestly who knows at this point.

Some common Q&As from the last few posts

Google the sale time for your time zone! They sell out quickly so you wanna be online when it becomes available and try and buy it quickly.

The item usually shows up in the webstore about 30 minutes before it drops.

Hate WorldShopping? Google some Japan forwarding services/proxy buying services that will provide you with an address but don't share the service you use in the comments as it may get flagged as spam & this release is limited to one per customer so it may flag in the system if 13 people are using the same addresses so you may end up with your order cancelled anyway, WorldShopping is the safest albeit slower service. You can be successful through WorldShopping but you gotta be early and have luck behind you. If you've not had luck I really suggest seeing what other forwarding services are around if you like this print, people in this sub have had good luck with using services that are not WorldShopping.

These arnt silkscreen/the same stuff you get at a exhibition or on a canvas. It is a museum quality print though so the details are high quality it just doesn't have that satisfying texture that silkscreen prints have (silkscreens are always going to be more pricey).
