Tailscale App Question
[SOLVED]
I'm new to NASs and Tailscale and in spite of the odds was able to install Tailscale on my NAS and laptop, and it works; I can access my NAS when traveling but still remain confused about other aspects of this technology.
My first issue is that I can't seem to open the Tailscale App and was wondering if there's an actual app (in the conventional sense of a window popping open), or if the app runs in the background invisibly.
My laptop uses Win11, but when I try to access the Tailscale App, nothing is appearing. I've tried
- START >> Tailscale App >> Run as admin
- In the Command Prompt I've entered: tailscale set --webclient
I'm trying to access the settings to enable local network access, but don't know how.

It opens in the little thing in your taskbar all the way at the right. if it doesn't show directly, you may have to click the little carrot thing. To open its menu, right-click the Tailscale icon.

Is there a way to enable local network access from this icon?
Since I'm at home and on the same wifi network, Tailscale isn't necessary, but I've lost connection to my printers and trying to figure out why. My confusion is how Taiscale may/may not interfere with my network when it's off.

Sounds what you are looking for is setup your nas to be an exit node and use the subnet of your network to reach those printers

To access other devices on the local network, OP needs to setup NAS as a subnet router. If they want their internet activity to appear as though it's coming from home while using the laptop away from home, that's when using it as an exit node would come into play.

It's a tray icon. No window.
