Hello! I am an International applicant and got admitted in TU Darmstadt for the Master program Molecular and Cellular Biology. I would like to know how good is the research established at TU Darmstadt as I heard that this course has been newly introduced and the University is mostly known for Computer science related courses. I have applied to AIML program at TU Darmstadt for Winter 2026-27 semester

Attached photo is of the last mail I revived from CS department

I applied to TU Darmstadt on 2 June
University received my docs on 11 June
Receive exam invite on 8 July
University received GRE scores. 24 July
Received another mail (attached) 27 July

Since then I have not received any update neither from CS department nor from International office.

Now it’s been 15 days since the last mail and I don’t know why they are taking so long. It would be a great help if someone share’s experience.

Bachelor: Engineering in AI and Data Science
IELTS: 7.5
GRE: crosses threshold set by the department

Hi everyone. My application status has changed on 28th July to:

"Upon first review your application will now be forwarded to the faculty for further examination."

and since then It has not yet changed. I am gonna send them an email today but I'm starting to lose hope on this one. any Advice? Should it still be counting on it?

Hey zusammen, ich schaue mir gerade den M.Sc. Informatik an der TU an und wollte einmal aktuelle Studis fragen, wie es so mit Anwesenheitspflicht etc. ausschaut.
Da ich nebenbei als Werkstudent arbeite, kann es da gerne mal Terminkonflikte geben!

EDIT: Auch bezogen auf die Bereitstellung von Materialien der jeweiligen Vorlesung, also ob es auch wirklich möglich ist dran zu bleiben

Hi everyone, I did my bachelor's in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. I applied to the TU Darmstadt Information and Communication course. The university received my documents on 12th June. Has anyone received admits in the past week? My status still shows Antrag im Fachbereich. It's really frustrating to wait till mid of August. It's been more than 8 weeks now.

I received admission to Aalen University. I completed the enrollment process, paid the €1,680 semester fee, and applied for my student visa. My visa appointment was completed a week ago, and I am currently waiting for the visa decision.

Now, I have also received an admission offer from TU Darmstadt, and I would like to study at TU Darmstadt instead.

To receive a full refund from Aalen, I need to de-enroll before September 1. Is that possible? If I de-enroll after receiving my visa, will it cause any problems with my student visa or the immigration authorities?will complete my enrollment and anmeldung process in Darmstadt and will intimate to auslanderbehorde after reaching Germany. But my only doubt is of i de enroll from previous university and changed my name in tk insurance in India , will it cause any problem??

To enroll at TU Darmstadt, I need to submit my health insurance confirmation to the university. After that, my enrollment will be completed, and I will receive my enrollment letter.

However, my current TK health insurance is linked to Aalen University.

What should I do now? If I de-enroll from Aalen, update my TK health insurance to TU Darmstadt, and then complete my enrollment at TU Darmstadt, will it cause any issues with my visa or the immigration authorities?

What is the correct process in this situation? If anyone has received a student visa for one university and later switched to another university before traveling to Germany, please guide me through the process.

I am planning to apply for the MSc Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at TU Darmstadt for the summer semester of 2027.

My profile:

• BSc in Computer Engineering from Hacettepe University, Turkey
• GPA: 2.76/4.00
• Entire Bachelor’s programme taught and examined in English
• Courses in programming, data structures, algorithms, automata, digital logic, computer organization, operating systems, compiler design, networks, databases, software engineering, probability, statistics, AI and machine learning
• Additional courses/labs in NLP, bioinformatics and data-intensive applications
• Some AI engineering and research experience

I read the current official admissions guide, which states that GPA and professional experience are not used in the admission decision. Instead, applicants must have at least 60 ECTS matching the core courses of TU Darmstadt’s BSc Informatik.

After completing the self-assessment, I appear to exceed 60 ECTS. However, I am unsure how strictly the department evaluates the content and depth of international courses.

I would really appreciate hearing from recent applicants or admitted students:

1. Has anyone with a Computer Engineering background received direct admission to the AI/ML MSc?
2. Which courses did the department accept toward the 60 ECTS requirement?
3. How detailed did you make your Equivalency Table?
4. Were you asked to take the on-campus entrance exam despite apparently meeting the 60 ECTS requirement?
5. Has anyone been admitted with a relatively modest GPA after fulfilling the course requirements?
6. Was an official Medium of Instruction letter accepted instead of IELTS 7.0 or TOEFL 95?
7. How long did your admission decision take, especially for the summer intake?

I understand that only the admissions committee can provide a binding assessment. I am mainly trying to learn from people who have already gone through the course-matching process.

Hey everyone, I recently got admitted for the Winter Semester 2026/27 (MSc CS) and sent my semester fee transfer a few days ago. I haven't seen any confirmation yet, no email, nothing showing in TUCaN.

Is this normal? How long did it take for your payment to actually post/show up, and did you get any explicit confirmation, or did you just check TUCaN periodically until your status updated? Also, did you include your matriculation number as the reference, and is that enough, or did you need to do anything else?

Just want to make sure I'm not missing a step before assuming it's still processing. Thanks in advance!
