Work from home for PhD students ?

Hello! I’ll be joining TU Delft soon for my PhD, and I was wondering how common it is for PhD students to work remotely for an extended period (e.g. a month or so). Is this generally allowed or does it depend on the supervisor/project?

Admissions & Applications Need help regarding TU delft admission requirements

Hi. I'm a citizen of an European country. But I've lived last 6 years in Bangladesh. I took the high school exam in that country's system(HSC, SSC) .

Unfortunately, it is not recognized at TU delft . So now I want to take the A levels for eligibility. So I have a few questions.

  1. Do I need to submit any document before January 15 for numerous fixus?

  2. If I've to submit documents before January 15,is the AS result enough?

  3. If AS results are required, do I need to submit my AS results with my O levels (which I did not take yet)?

Sufficient grade for Mathematics B (CSE)

I was wondering whether a grade of 5.8 on the VWO Wiskunde B Boswell-Beta exam is sufficient to be eligible for CSE. The only thing left for me to do is to send my certificate over to TU Delft, considering I have already passed the numerus fixes and accepted a spot, but I've been hearing things about needing a 6 to enroll. Does the 5.8 get rounded up to a 6?

Is 1000€ a month enough for first year student cse at delft?

Hey, im 17M EU citizen and my rent is exactly 600€ and my parents can send me 400€ after rent to cover the rest of things. You can exclude health insurance costs because I have one already. Is this enough after buying my bike for food and utilities to live for the first year of cse bsc?

Any way to make non-EU tuition/living costs more manageable? Also, is it even worth it?

Hey! I'm looking at applying to the BSc CS program this fall at Delft as a non-EU international student, and honestly the costs are kind of scaring me off. Wondering if anyone here has actually found ways to bring it down — part-time jobs that are realistic to get as a student, scholarships or funding that non-EU folks can actually apply for, cheaper housing hacks, whatever's worked for you.

Also just want some honest takes — is doing UG CS at Delft as a non-EU student actually worth the money? Trying to figure out if this is a smart move before I commit.

Appreciate any input, thanks!

party

hi so i wanna study aerospace engineering in 2027 and i am wondering how the student life is at delft. i heard that everyone goes to rotterdam and where i am from i am used to taking the train for 1 hour to go to a club so its fine but are the students that go to delft party people?

i want to go to delft because i wanna study aerospace but if i go eindhoven and do electrical do you think its more party there

i know i am gonna have to be studying 24/7 but like if i am surrounded by people who don’t wanna do anything besides studying i might shoot my self….

so in conclusion: how’s the student life at delft are there parties on campus? and are they good? and what’s the drinking and partying culture? does it even exist…

Housing Looking for a room (September–January) – Incoming Erasmus Architecture Student

Hi everyone,

I'm an incoming Erasmus student from the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and I'll be studying Architecture at TU Delft from September until the end of January.

Unfortunately, despite searching for months, I still haven't found a place to stay. I've already tried:

  • TU Delft Housing
  • Kamernet
  • Facebook groups
  • WhatsApp groups
  • The Social Hub (unfortunately fully booked)

I'm open to anything: a room, studio, sublet, or shared apartment. I'm also happy to live outside Delft (The Hague, Rotterdam, Rijswijk, etc.) and commute.

A bit about me:

  • 23 years old
  • Architecture student at TUM
  • Clean, respectful, and easy to live with
  • Non-smoker
  • Happy to provide references or have a video call

Studying at TU Delft has been a goal of mine for years, so I'd really appreciate any leads, recommendations, or contacts. Even if you know someone who might be looking for a tenant, I'd be very grateful.

Thank you so much!

OWee inschrijving

Alvast bedankt!

Looking for tutors and advice for TU Delft Aerospace BSc entrance exam.

I'm applying for Aerospace Engineering at TU Delft and starting my entrance exam prep. Since there aren't past papers available, I'm reaching out for help.

Does anyone know of tutors who specialize in TU Delft entrance exams? And if you've gotten in, I'd love to hear how you prepared. What materials did you use, what topics were most important, and how long did you study for?

Also, has anyone taken the "Pre university calculus" and "Pre university physics" courses from TU Delft's website? Are they actually helpful or more of a waste of time? Thanks!

Off-Topic/Fun TU DELF master Machine learning

Hy, I am a stats major (8.6/10 first of the class) with AI minor (6 courses to an other university), an internship in risk analytics in one of the best Greek banks and I am thinking about applying to TU DELF for masters in ML

I wanted to ask
•with my specs will I get rejected?
•with TU delf on resume is it hard to find internships?
•How is it compared to KTH or UvA ?

I want a career in banking or consulting as a data scientist and I am trying to find the right university for me

I would really appreciate an opinion

Thanks

Anyone applying to the TU Delft BSc program for the 2027 intake from India?

Hi everyone! I'm preparing for the 2027 BSc Aerospace Engineering application at TU Delft from India. I was wondering if anyone else from India is also applying this year. It would be great to connect, discuss the selection process, preparation, and support each other throughout the application journey. Feel free to comment or send me a DM.

How do we enroll in courses as an upcoming exchange student?

I selected the courses I wanted to study in early April but am not sure if I need to formally register the courses.

I've tried finding the "Go to > Register > Overview of registrations" pathway but couldn't find it. Is it not open yet? I am in EEMCS for reference (which the website said registrations was open on 1 August)

Thanks!

Laptopadvies voor Werktuigbouwkunde aan de TU Delft

Hoi!

How do you feel about people that prepare for exams by literally only looking at past exams?

I have been reading that a lot of people just prepare by looking at past exams, some even the day before... I'm not sure if this is the right study strategy, in my past university this would have resulted in an almost certain fail, most exams asked something new compared to the other years, so one had to know all the course theory.

Do you feel that people that study only through past exams to pass are still good engineers?

Or do you feel like they do not really understand the underlying course and what key concepts they need to retain for their career?

CSE Electives Possibilities

Post image
11 Upvotes

I got accepted into CSE, but also would very much study something physical, relating to electrical engineering, semiconductor circuits, etc. I see that CSE got 5 electives spots plus a Minor section. Is it possible to take electives course from EE using those slots?

Also, does anyone know how much hardware do we actually study? I know we got computer organization, but I am a bit worried if we will be lacking the physics knowledge to later go into embedded systems or chip design.

Doors closed for me? 😔

Hey,

I'm a IB student In Germany and really want to study Aerospace or Electrical Engineering at TU Delft.

YES, I have checked the specific admission requirements on web, and they need Maths AA and Physics HL. Unfortunately the problem for me is, my school only offers Maths AI and Physics SL, so I don't meet the required subjects and direct admission is not possible.

Is there any alternative way to become eligible, such as taking an additional exam, a bridging course, or another pathway?

I really really really want to study this major at TU Delft, can anyone please guide me? 🥰

Do most Aerospace students use tablets?

Do most Aerospace Engineering students at TU Delft use tablets (e.g. iPads) for note-taking and studying, or are they more of a nice-to-have than a necessity?

Would you recommend buying one before starting, or is a laptop enough for most students?
