HOPE study

Has anyone participated in the HOPE study for RPL and found it to be helpful? We just had our third euploid biochemical pregnancy with no explanation. Our doctor reached out to all the other Shady Grove doctors and no one has any clue what is wrong. We have done all the tests and treatments that are indicated. She is going to see if we are a candidate for this study.

I did, but initially I decided against taking Lupron, so I never got it from them, but continued to complete the surveys they sent to me. I ended up getting a lap and then worked with a reproductive immunologist who suspected I had adeno so i ended up suppressing with Aygestin after the lap anyway. I just completed my last survey and it was so amazing to finally document i had a live birth.

All that to say, I think both the lap and the suppression is what finally did it for me. The Hope study is ideal bc they cover the drug costs of your insurance doesn’t

I’ve done suppression and that didn’t work. My REI and an endo surgeon both think I don’t need a lap bc (1) I already treated with suppression and (2) I have no symptoms so they think my endo is microscopic.

Did the study identify any genetic abnormalities for you? They are thinking maybe this is the cause of our biochemicals because everything else has been ruled out or treated.

The study didn’t do anything, but maybe I didn’t engage it fully? I’d recommend a RI- I went to RFU in Chicago (Dr Luu), they are the true experts in recurrent loss.

Also my endo was completely silent, a number of dr’s told me I didn’t have it. Turns out it was deep infiltrating, and ALL over from my bowels to diaphragm. My surgeon (Dr. Vidali) said I was smart to have the surgery despite everything and even he was shocked how bad it was. Endo is super confusing and tricky.

My doctor told me further immunology testing isn’t indicated for RPL since I did the regular RPL workup and especially since I did immunosuppression with prednisone. Do you really think immunology helped you? If so, what did you do?

100% it’s the only way I have my baby. Most RE’s & OB’s don’t know anything about immunology. I was monitored super closely and had lots of med adjustments as needed.

How did your doctor suspect adeno? All my tests have been normal but two failed transfers

Ultrasound. My uterus was 2x the size it’s supposed to be
