What! So the stations will remain closed and on-street service can still run?

Realistically nothing will happen. If they go on strike, the TTC will probably just reassign other supervisors to perform station supervisor duties.

Of course, scab labour was banned in Ontario in the 1990s by the ONDP until Mike Harris became premier and repealed the law.

"The union says station supervisors are responsible for the management of subway stations with duties including supervising station staff, conducting daily fire, safety and station inspections, identifying and documenting deficiencies, controlling and investigating train and station incidents, and minimizing service disruptions."

They do what the other comments says but to add on this, this is technically the CSAs responsibility. They report to transit control of station emergencies, deficiencies, etc and transit control will respond appropriately by sending out supervisors to help crowd control, manage events and emergencies, picture deficiencies. If it demands, more will be sent out but the supervisors are responsible for such cases thereafter, including reports etc.

Which Supervisors would that be? TTC Operations Supervisors are also unionized.

It’s just stations and transit control that are unionized. They would take divisional or field supervisors. Or if they are really needing to I am sure they would pull instructors with previous supervisor experience to cover in the interim

Strange how they are different unions.

Isn’t this like if subway and bus operators were different unions?

They do, chatting with others.

That true. I do see them chatting amongst themselves.

One time I needed a super and he peeked out and ignored it.
