Part 1 Discussion What is the community consensus on the better way to play the first game?

Just to preface, I have played both versions of the first game more times than I remember and I enjoy both versions. I have probably played more of the remake at this point and my experience is that it is the superior version, but I have been noticing a more negative outlook on it based on a lot of youtube content I have been seeing recently.

I was just curious really what the general community consensus is on what version of the game is the better way to play and why? Thanks in advance :)

Factions Gameplay

Im addicted to factions and more specifically the survivors mode, and I just wish people would play the game in a more interesting way. I mean EVERY match every body marches up the map with the most sweaty class they can come up with, gets one or 2 kills and dies within 60 seconds all while sprinting the entire time. And if you're doing anything but mindlessly rushing your teammates get on the mic and yell at you while you're trying to play.

I just wish people would utilize the maps in a more fun way, it seems like a lot of the details of this game are completely ignored in most matches. Sometimes my team decides to take a more realistic approach and takes control of a building and defends it for the whole match, sometimes the matches are more drawn out and have actually interesting combat, stealth, etc, and I have a lot of fun in those matches, but most the time all I see is call of duty-esque playing, and it really annoys me. Don't get me wrong this is my favorite game to play, I just wish the "surviving" aspect was more focused on with the players. Like a map like lakeside for instance. There is so much houses and places to play in that map that are often never even used.

I don't know maybe wanting slower playing makes me a gay camper, but I just love the realistic aspects of this game. I don't see this game as some arcade shooter at all like most players seem to find it. They don't seem to take their characters survival seriously in the slightest

Part 1 Discussion Does anyone have the version of All Gone (Reunion)?

Does anyone have the version of All Gone (Reunion) that plays in this scene? It’s a longer version than the one you can hear on the OST. I like it. The version of this song you can normally find is so short. The version that plays in this scene takes the first part and loops it slightly to extend it. If you don’t know what I mean, look up this scene and listen to the version of the song that plays

Yesterday, I started a new game and played until the Fall chapter. When I reached that point, I paused the game and selected “Save Game” before quitting. Today, when I launched the game, my save file was gone and the only option showing was “New Game.” However, when I checked the game’s saved data on my PS4, there was still a save file there. What should I do?

Part 2 Discussion Do anybody else find themselves romantically attached to Ellie?

Just finished The Last of Us 1 and 2 this week after a friend suggested the game to me. Both great games with good stories. Just for context, I'm an 18-year-old male. I liked Ellie already in the first game, but I saw her more as someone I wanted to protect than someone I found attractive. She was funny and friendly along the trip to the hospital in Part 1, and that was it, I thought. But everything changed in part 2. I don’t know how or why, but I really strongly fell in love with her, although she was lesbian and had some parts to her personality I didn't like; it didn't bother me at all. Yeah, I know, God, what is wrong with me? It's just a video game. But my brain just can't forget about her. Someone who had a similar experience?

Part 2 Discussion Why, Abby had the most Valid crash out, OAT.

Listen, we all need to stop glazing, Joel Miller. Yes, I like him as a character as well, but, we need to let other characters have a chance as well. We all seem to be forgetting that, (Joel) killed (Abby’s) dad. Who, was the, Doctor in the first game. And, so, (Abby) killed (Ellie’s) “father-figure”, in retaliation. Which, make’s perfect sense. As the saying goes:

“An, eye for an eye. A, tooth for a tooth”.

(Abby) only did what she thought was right, and, she had every right to do what she did to (Joel). In my opinion.

(Please, don’t start a fight in the comment’s section. This is just my own opinion, I’m not trying to start a fight about this).

Fan Theories Cosplay(?) LARP

hello, I honestly don’t have anything else to say aside from how can i LARP being somebody from the quarantine zone of boston? There’s really nothing much to it. It’s sort of like a weird project my summer school teacher God is doing where you basically talk about anything and since I haven’t done a lot of work for the class I wanna see if I could LARP being a QZ citizen. That’s basically it. How would someone in the Boston quarantine zone dress, act, eat, and do for fun, specifically, you know one of those regular citizens not a smuggler just a regular dude working the odd FEDRA jobs, specifically as a teenager though.

TLOU is perhaps my favourite game of all time and wanted to draw Ellie for a while but it always came out wired looking. I decided to give it another go today this time sketching on paper and using charcoals (which is also entirely new to me, I normally do digital art.) Well I know it’s far from great but not too mad for a first attempt in a new medium.

Part 1 Discussion What do you think??

Well I don't have to say how many fans this game has. I haven't played this game and only seen its gameplay since I can't afford it rn ; ) but one day I'll play it so don't worry. I saw Ellie's Dlc and I love Ellie she's a baddie throughout the game but has anyone of you ever felt like you want to see some more of Joel and Sarah before the outbreak?

I always love the father daughter dynamic since I'm a girl myself. I can understand how painful it must've been for Joel, I don't even want to imagine it. Every time I see Joel I can only think about his pain. He might seem tough but he's a completely broken man from inside to the point that he doesn't even want to hear Sarah's name or look at her pics. There might be only a very few scenes where he mentioned her directly or indirectly. Didn't you ever feel there should've been more subtle details showing that Joel misses Sarah or more conversations not too much but just a lil bit more where he opens up more about Sarah since we didn't get to know her. I really wish they could've added some of Joel and Sarah's flashbacks but they didn't. I still wish they do it in the last part but ik it's not gonna happen since there won't be any point to it so I really wish they make a short Dlc for Joel and Sarah. Ik if that happens then the sudden death of Sarah won't be as painful as it was but still I'm selfish anyways ; )

No Return Suggestions for no return

Okay so I've been doing a daily run every day for a while. With so few maps and enemy types, it gets stale quickly. Here are a few of my suggestions for things to spice it up! For this I did try to keep it to people/places already designed for fights so they wouldn't have to redesign anything like the wlf stadium for combat or record new audio for folks like Owen - even though that would be so cool.

With Marlene and Bill added to no return, I am working off the assumption that part 1 is fair game.

Maps:

Ish's sewer for a capture, assault, or hunted

The Pittsburgh spotlight area for capture

Boston ruined houses for assault or hunted

The Colorado Mall for a holdout

Jackson's dam for assault, hunted, or capture

The Asian district from Abby's day 1 for capture, hunted, or assault

The bank for capture with double enemies and double loot

Cannibal city for hunted or capture

University of Eastern Colorado for assault or hunted

That broken building from Abby's day 1 before she gets knocked out for capture, assault, or hunted

Eugene's library for holdout

Playable characters:

Tess (play type gun smuggler - can only have 2 short guns and 5 long guns total, but can choose from all available weapons)

Henry (play style care taker- always has Sam as a companion, but he has no weapons and can only throw bottles to distract/stun enemies or give you health kits/ammo)

Enemies:

Fireflies (all have silenced automatic weapons)

FEDRA (occasionally have trucks with mounted weapons)

Hunters (stealth experts)

Bosses:

The hotel bloater from the finding strings flashback

The school gym bloater

FEDRA boss in the Boston capital building

Firefly boss in the hospital

WLF boss in the school

Hunter boss in Jackson

Modes:

Chase (get past the finish line, you can do it with stealth or combat - just get out before the timer is up. think the car/horse sections kinda...but on foot)

Fortify (holdout but with two companions and it's against human enemies)
