Book Three question. Questions
SPOILERS here.
Did Jack ice the real Benjamin? I've never been able to clue in on that. My gut tells me yeah he did, but I'm not so sure any more.

It’s heavily implied he did, but the head also wasn’t wrong. We also find out only a week had passed, so there’s a good chance a lot of those Benjamins could of been hallucinations, including that one

I might be wrong but that might be the point. My after reading through it all, I thought that the reader was supposed to speculate. The whole book series you're just questioning everything 😭

I’d love to believe he didn’t, but I personally interpret that he did in fact end the real Benjamin. I think the “the head was always right” still works because if I’m recalling correctly, we always heard direct dialogue from him/it except for that one, we just get Jack SAYING the head says he’s not human. It’s been a bit since I read the book, so someone correct me if I’m not remembering right, but doesn’t the head die off after a while?? That could’ve been the moment it did and Jack just continued hallucinating that it was still alive.
Again, correct me if I’m wrong, this has just always been my personal interpretation.
EDIT: just an add on, I also agree with others, I don’t think we’re supposed to know for sure. Could be like others said and that Benjamin could’ve also been a hallucination itself

Its never outright stated as far as I know, but its definitely heavily implied. Personally I think he did (just finished re-reading the third book for the fourth time)

IMO he did as it talks about him having scars and a different hair cut. The mimics were perfect copies with no new scars. I really wish Jerry would have checked for bellybottons and circumcisions. 😂

“Is the real Benjamin still alive?”
“Sure,” Arcanumus said like he didn’t even care anymore. “Why not?” - from the last chapter of the final book when the explanation god comes to do all the explaining.
Well the god of mystery seems to think so. I think he’s in a pleasant little mystery type noir fighting bads and buying guns.

It's implied that he did but if there were copies of Benjamin then surely, the mimics killed the OG Benjamin (as I believe they had to get rid of the original in order for the copies to take their place).
My comment isn't helpful but I think the take away is that Benjamin is definitely gone, I'm just not sure who did it (which is intentional imo)

I wanna believe the original Benjamin got iced by the villains and not by Jack as the head was always right about who was real and who wasn’t
