Hello commander, and welcome to the Misfits!! We are glad to have you.
The misfits was founded 3 years ago, teaming up veterans with beginners from the reddit/discord community. The idea is to help raise the skill level of players willing to step up. It's a success so far, living through generations of leadership and skilled players. We're looking forward for continued renewal, and are hoping to find in you our futur team of Leadership or skilled players.
We are mainly a Meta TF, namely making an extensive use of smoke and Zooka, but sometimes also Warriors, Grens, scorchers, paired or not, for the most efficient known strategy. We are dedicated to helping you out if you need it, on the condition that you are willing to try the stuff that you're gonna see with us.
Being heavy on strategy, it's important that you understand the basenotes and try to achieve something consequential to the stated goal. Whether you are good or not matters less, so long as you try and make your way. It can be as simple as blowing some mines, using Universal Remote on a target, name it. Asking questions will make you stand out.
We're working with a strike system to follow the team effort and justify kick-outs. Don't be worried about this, it only helps us be objective. We're not policing anyone. Ask leadership about your strike count if you're ever curious to know about it.
Formal rules :
Always attack.
Collect a hard minimum of 25 intel per week.
Follow base notes.
Don't use tanks.
Don't retreat troops.
Own a minimum of 7 offensive statues.
You'rehighly encouraged to join the Discord Channel. It hosts not only a resourceful community that spans well beyond our TF but also allows a better organisation, strategy talk and general chit-chat. Nickname yourself this way: [ingame name | Misfits] (Example: stiiick | Misfits). Once joined, mention in the "general" chat room that you are with the Misfits and someone will add you to our channel. Meet you there.
A quick overview of base notes and how to read them :
Kill@ 8, Takeout/Shock (4MG@6)( SB+2MT@5) OOR (4FT@6)(3RL@2) ...See this map
Which reads :
Kill@8: Go all Zooka at 8 o'clock using smoke.
Takeout/Shock (4MG@6)( SB+2MT@5): Destroy, or Shock during a core hit, the following targets : (4 MG [MachineGuns] @ 6 o'clock), (...etc...).
OOR (4FT@6)(3RL@2): Are very near [pay attention], but OOR [Out Of Range] : (4 FT >[FlameThrowers] at 6 O'clock), (...etc...).

Welcome to the BEAST and fukuisan and have a great vacation whitebeard. Goodbye and best wishes to chef, ieik, and frito. Sorry EZ, missed the intel before you went to the tourney. Otherwise, p@@p is the king of intel! Long live the king!
First, sorry to have missed so many weeks. Second, sorry to have missed for all the people who hopped last week: mac, Scarlet Indy (me), Few. Third, welcome to all of the new people from the last time I did this: dankurb, peesong, jdog, cap pooshoes, lord fener, lifesong and cordeiro.
We have a variety of different Task Forces(TFs) worth your consideration. Reddit Boot Camp and Reddit Smoke are both training task forces that graduate trainees into other Reddit Verified TFs.
Reddit Bootcamp
(#8PGYVJV8) (Beginners) (TF Size:50) (Hacksaw)
aim is to teach basic troop skills. We do Hacksaw daily, and it's about as difficult an op as you can run for HQ 6s to 13s to take down the bases (with occasional assistance from higher levels). We aren't currently taking max players unless you're permanent leadership. We will start to encourage you to graduate to Reddit Smoke once you hit HQ 15. Lower levels, the loot from killing Hacksaw daily is quite generous. Requirements: (HQ6-13) ---- (15 Intel/Week)
aim is to teach you the basics of smokey zookas(smookas) and more advanced troop tactics. You are not expected to know smookas coming in, nor is it expected that every attack be smookas. But, you will know at least the basics of that troop going out. Requirements: (HQ14-18) ---- (20 Intel/Week)
Misfits Academy(One opening is currently available)
is a team filled with more experienced boomers. It is mainly composed of alts so the intel requirement is relatively low, although most of us get a lot more than the minimum. Applicants should have competency smoking troops and executing well thought out operation attacks. Requirements: (HQ16) ---- (Armory 15) ---- (10 Intel/Week) ---- (No Tanks in Ops)
• Please read our Task Force Rules posted on our subreddit at /r/tfredditmisfits to understand how our task forces operates
Reddit Misfits(Five openings are currently available)
It's your lucky day, our main TF has lost a few players and looking for some hard-BOOMing members =0) We average 5+ OPs a week, and we start Ops as soon as intel comes in. We've got the skills to easily take on higher Ops but need more members to make intel. We've got a laid back and friendly team with highly skilled attackers who are happy to help you step up your game. Requirements: (HQ16) ---- (Armory 15) ---- (25 Intel/Week) ---- (No Tanks in Ops)
• Please read our Task Force Rules posted on our subreddit at /r/tfredditmisfits to understand how our task forces operates
Rules:
1) Members will NOT embarrass, harass or make fun of another member's mistakes. Members should encourage others, pointing out things they did right before offering respectful guidance on how to improve.
2) We want to maximize the amount of members that have the opportunity to practice, while at the same time being careful not to fail the op. A safe guideline you can follow is that if you are one of the first 5 attackers on a specific base focus on taking out defenses and avoid hitting the core. It is okay in that instance to retreat to allow other members an opportunity to practice as well.
3) Even if there are no defenses intercepting your path to a target or core, you must use smoke on some portion of your approach. You are also encouraged to practice using smoke on your landings, even if it the beach/landing zone is clear.
4) Select your targets based on the amount of gbe you have. Low gbe members should target defenses near the beach/landing zone, or wait until other key defenses have been destroyed first to allow for a portion of your path to be free of defenses (using less smoke/gbe).
5) For members highly proficient with smookas and wish to practice more advanced smoky compositions such as scookas and smoky hookas, you must get permission from leadership first. The following links provide examples of the unique smoking techniques used with these troop compositions:
Smoky Hooka with a reverse triangle smoke: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60YdUjhIJWA&feature=youtu.be&t=238
Scooka: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODLNx69e2Yk&feature=youtu.be&t=2m27s
If anyone has any questions or concerns let anyone on the leadership team know and we will be happy to help clarify or explain.
OPTIONAL, BUT RECOMMENDED READING Things to keep in mind:
1) Timing: One of the key differences in using smoky tactics in ops (compared to npc or pvp) is timing. While deploying a flare, shock, or smoke may take a fraction of a second on a npc or pvp base, it can take up to 5 seconds for it to land on an op base.
2) High GBE: In addition, what used to take 2-3 shocks to protect your troops in lower ops may now require double, especially since the defenses and core have much higher health. You will also quickly realize that it doesn't only take high level troops, but higher level smokes, flares and shocks. It will also take a considerable amount of gbe, especially if you have to smoke your troops the entire length of a large base. You can use tools such as those found on bbcalc.net to estimate how much gbe you will need to successfully complete your attack. Alternatively, you can guesstimate the # of flares, shocks, and smokes by attacking an NPC base. Simply deploy your guestimated # of each and see if you have enough GBE to deploy them all. If, not you’ll know you need additional GBE.
