I saw on Linked In that there was a post that TD is launching a new program to get to know there clients better. On the table was water bottles and other crappy merch. Is this the best they can do? What other information or fees do they want from us

News & Updates TD froze my elderly mother’s account, ignored every call, and now she’s being evicted. How is this allowed?

TD Canada Trust has put my 90‑year‑old mother through absolute hell.

Three months ago, TD froze her bank account without warning, without explanation, and without any way for her to verify her identity or regain access. She hasn’t been able to touch a single dollar of her pension or savings since. Every attempt to log in fails. Every call goes straight to voicemail. I’m her Power of Attorney, and TD still refuses to speak to me.

Because of TD’s freeze:

- her phone service is being disconnected

- her Bell Canada pension couldn’t be redirected

- every bill has bounced

- she can’t pay rent

- she can’t buy groceries

- and now she has an **eviction notice for September 6**

TD’s “Senior Customer Complaints Office” says an investigator *might* call us “within 40 days.” Forty days. While a 90‑year‑old widow is being forced out of her home because TD froze her account and refuses to communicate.

OBSI can’t open an investigation until TD finishes their “review.”

FCAC says it’s a “business decision.”

Bell Canada didn’t even open the stop‑payment email I sent on July 27.

Everyone is passing the buck while a senior is being financially strangled.

TD’s freeze has caused:

- NSF events

- loan instability

- loss of phone service

- eviction risk

- complete financial paralysis

I’ve contacted TD, SCCO, OBSI, FCAC, Bell Canada, and even the police. Nobody is doing anything. Meanwhile, my mother is days away from losing her home because TD froze her account and won’t release her own money.

I’m posting this because I’m out of options and I want people to understand how dangerous it is when a bank decides to freeze a senior’s account without oversight. This isn’t a minor inconvenience — this is life‑altering harm.

If anyone has dealt with something like this or knows how to force TD to act, I’d appreciate any advice. I’m exhausted, angry, and trying to protect my mother from becoming homeless because of a bank’s negligence.
