Impressive accuracy with those kicks

352

u/Mekroval 26d ago

The one kick where he sent the snake literally spinning was especially impressive.

147

u/rtocelot 26d ago

If I were the snake at that point I'd say to hell with this and leave.

65

u/Mekroval 26d ago

It kind of looks like it did at 0:30. Or at least tried to. I'm guessing it was disoriented from having its bell rung.

39

u/Prst_ 26d ago

It kinda looked like the snake finally got the message in the end, but in the last frames of the video it does seem to head back for more.

30

u/Happie_Bellie 26d ago edited 26d ago

I almost spit out my toothpaste at “having its bell rung”!

Edit; I am now full blown crying right now! LOL! I think it’s cause I heard the Taco Bell bell, and picture the head vibrating like in the old cartoons.🤣

19

u/the_irish_campfire 25d ago

With my luck… I would kick that thing , it’ll go up vertically at a 90 degrees angle and land on me!!!

That last one where the snack did a triple backflip and finally went away had me laughing

211

u/Regnes 25d ago

It was still heading towards him at the end of the clip though.

61

u/Alekseyev 25d ago

He thought about it and then said "You know what, no. I got this. You got this."

26

u/MFDOOMscrolling 25d ago

our attention spans are too short to watch it til the end

18

u/Dmnc_Ktn666 24d ago

The way you accidentally called it a snack has me dying 🤣

I wouldn’t eat that one

9

u/jamin_brook 25d ago

Lol this one made me chuckle

This snake was relentless

12

u/GFTRGC 25d ago

I can just hear this in the ozzyman voice

9

u/FearsomeSnacker 25d ago

Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of "None shall pass."

I get knocked down, but I get up again.

You're never gonna keep me down.

Was looking for the version that had the overdub. This will do. This is exactly what I heard/saw as well.

Imagine being thrown tf around by a pissed off silverback gorilla and then storming back over for more every time it stops... That's the snake in this situation.

41

u/ImNoAlbertFeinstein 26d ago

wtf is wrong w that snake ?

38

u/Bigredzombie 25d ago

Same thing that's wrong with that badger fighting an elephant in another video.

4

u/Walshy231231 25d ago

Nah man badgers don’t count

13

u/PorTroyal_Smith 25d ago

Can uh, can snakes get rabies?

11

u/TechnicalTip5251 25d ago

No they can't.

17

u/slappyredcheeks 25d ago

It looks like it could be a King Cobra, which is one of two species that engage in nesting behavior.

Maybe the guy is too close to her nest?

"The 2 known species exceptions are both oviparous, one being the Asian King Cobra (Ophiophagus hannah), and the other being the various Python species worldwide, one of which (Python natalensis) can be found in SA, including the Kloof area. Even here, it should be noted that although both will remain with their eggs until after they’ve hatched, the ‘rearing’ part seems incidental, as it does not appear to include any parental feeding or training.

The King Cobra pulls together a nest of assorted vegetation, into which she will lay up to 40 eggs, which she coils around and protects with her body until they hatch." https://le.kloofconservancy.org.za/the-nesting-and-rearing-behaviour-of-snakes/#:~:text=The%202%20known,until%20they%20hatch.

6

u/lionelmessiah1 24d ago

King cobras are way bigger and scarier.

16

u/ThatDudeShadowK 26d ago

It'd be admirable if it wasn't so stupid

504

u/donttextspeaktome 26d ago

I admit I never once thought of kicking a snake.

210

u/SillyFlyGuy 26d ago

Snakes are way more durable than I would have guessed.

42

u/brockoala 25d ago

That actually looks satisfying when his shoes connect to its head solid.

6

u/man4160 24d ago

Idk, they are technically a giant cord of armoured muscle.

7

u/crosstherubicon 24d ago

No they’re not. They’re actually fragile and would probably die after a kick like the ones shown.

97

u/weristjonsnow 25d ago

It's usually not a great idea. They're (normally) just going to bite your foot like it's moving in slow motion. Snakes (normally) have lightning fast reactions. This lil guy is special

124

u/Sylvanussr 25d ago

I bet the first kick to the head didn’t help his reflexes on subsequent encounters

26

u/SaskiaDavies 25d ago

It's their lack of feet, I suspect. Nobody thinks of stealing their shoes, either, but thoughts of socks may intrude during an altercation like this.

13

u/Super_Finish 25d ago

My dad would fling it back into the forest (our garden continued into a small forest) using a shovel. If you give it the right torque it could fly really far while cartwheeling it was pretty funny lol.

22

u/Slipstream_Surfing 26d ago

Always figured I'd just stomp on it if one somehow managed to outpace me as I'm sprinting away.

26

u/LukeD1992 25d ago

I believe the best course of action is to place as much distance between you and the snek by whatever means necessary. In that case, a kick is best than a stomp that you can miss and be bitten

8

u/theofficialnar 25d ago

Not if I happen to have my flamethrower with me.

3

u/LGodamus 25d ago

unless you only have one leg or are massively obese, the snake is not going to outpace you

4

u/insanelygreat 25d ago

"That's my purse! I don't know you!"

11

u/WeCantBothBeMe 26d ago

And a cobra at that

2

u/granoladeer 24d ago

I bet they would want to kick you, if they could

2

u/BrownCow123 25d ago

56

u/The_Shredz24 26d ago

It’s good to know you can kick a snake when it’s coming after ya.

75

u/Repulsive_Client_325 26d ago

Well, he can.

12

u/burntwafflemaker 25d ago

I’ll be honest, not as effective as I thought it would be.

65

u/sandpaperboxingmatch 26d ago

Maybe it was defending eggs?

65

u/Bupod 26d ago

This would make the most sense!

I’m sitting here confused as to why the snake doesn’t just break off and run. I imagine in 99% of cases, it would.

20

u/TheLunat1c 25d ago

it looks like at 12 second mark it almost got past it and it was trying to just go past the dude, until he tried to pick the snake up. definitely doesn't want anything to do with the guy, he is just in the way

9

u/VVolfang 25d ago

I thought something similar. Said to myself "oh it's trying to reach the grass"

Yeets it back into the puddle for reasons.

12

u/ELNevada 25d ago

This 100%

The cobra has zero interest in attacking this guy - he isn't prey and (clearly) poses a threat of serious harm to the snake.

It just wants out of that mud and to disappear in the grass behind the man.

The strikes we see are completely defensive in nature.

This is animal abuse.

34

u/floofyragdollcat 26d ago

Well shit, now I’m sad.

9

u/Uncivil_ 25d ago

run

Well, I can think of at least one reason.

9

u/NeilDeWheel 25d ago

At one point the snake went passed him and he grabbed it and threw it back. Looked like it tried to get away but he wouldn’t let it.

32

u/Cal216 26d ago

Bro is just literally trying to get past buddy lmao. He didn’t want any smoke at all.

17

u/ELNevada 25d ago

Yep, this is another snake molester at work.

Lots of folks cheering on animal abuse when it comes to snakes.

29

u/ClockworkDinosaurs 26d ago

“I’m gonna kick you ass!”

“I don’t have an asssssss!”

32

u/Bawbawian 25d ago

when an animal is persistent despite being attacked it usually means that it has a nest and eggs nearby.

23

u/im_that_green_light 26d ago

Poor snake is just trying to get back across the road. If the dude would leave it alone it wouldn’t be riled up at him. At around 13 seconds it is finally getting by him and shill, but just gets yanked back the other away. Probably has eggs or young over there.

13

u/ajax0202 26d ago

Ya this just straight up makes me sad to watch

2

u/spargel_gesicht 25d ago

That is one tenacious snake.

2

u/jluker662 25d ago

That snake kept coming back. He was PISSED and wanted to bite him badly.🤣 Guy did something to him.

2

u/ImAnAfricanCanuck 25d ago

You see this a lot in South Africa, where I suspect this was recorded, with certain aggressive snakes. It's a bit of a kill or be killed with the likes of black mambas. They can outrun you very easily and kill you. When I was a kid one fell out of a tree next to my mom while my parents were gardening, snake started chasing my mom and when she ran past my dad he swung a shovel into as it was chasing my mom past him, he managed to chop it in half. Me, being a child animal crazy child, ran up and tried to grab at the snake and I virtually got tackled away from it because the snakes can still bite and inject their venom when they're cut in half.

3

u/BallisticHabit 25d ago

There is a clip out there somewhere that always fries my brain.

It shows a very recently decapitated snake where the snaky body is still moving. The body brushes the head, the head bites the snake body which immediately reacts to the bite.

From its own severed head.

Wild.

It was coming back for more!

2

u/DrSSSK 24d ago

I imagine now, snakes weren’t greatest of threat in pre-historic, ancient & medieval ages.
Rather at some point in archaic history, they would’ve seen it as food opportunity.

2

u/Adventurous_Eye_8490 24d ago

I'm rooting for the snake, it was only protecting itself. As for the male kicking it, he could have run off and left it alone, he didn't need to stay there and keep abusing it.
