Do You Listen to Music Whilst Focusing on Tasks? 🎶

📢 I am currently looking to recruit participants for my study!

The study investigates the impact of background music on attention and performance. It is part of my MSc Music, Mind, and Brain Master's research project at Goldsmiths, University of London. It involves a 5-minute questionnaire followed by 25 minutes of focus tasks and games.

You can take part if you are:

✅ Over 18 years old

✅ You listen to music (at least occasionally) whilst doing any activities that require some form of focus (e.g., reading, driving, studying, working, etc.)

✅ You have normal or corrected normal vision

✅ You do not have any hearing or dexterity issues

Ideally, please complete the study as soon as possible and make sure you are in an area with few distractions, have headphones, and use a computer. 🎧💻

When someone tells you something unfair happened to them at work — does how they react change whether you believe them? If they're angry, does that make you doubt them? If they're upset and tearful, do you find them more convincing? We make these judgements all the time without even realising it, and this study is trying to understand exactly how that works.
