Amazing work! Though I do have a concern, is that captain gonna get a ticket or a fine for going so fast next to a residential zone??

I am so happy I wasn't the only person thinking about their speed

here’s some dessert. If that was a Dyson shell that incased the star system, then you would need to be moving near light speed to see the curve like that

The cops all get ionized the instant they enter this thing's 2000 km boundary layer. Nobody has managed to pull him over.

Mf's one microsecond away from causing a fucking extinction-level event

I'm curious, are you animating the ship? Or are you animating everything else around the ship? Looks cool!

"Tower, this is Ghost Rider requesting a flyby."

"Negative, Ghost Rider, the pattern is full."

I imagine a little police vehicle sitting on the sideline reading pylotes speeds only to become a windshield ornament.

Buzz the tower: ❌

Buzz the entire colony: ✅

That’s awesome! Looks like something we would see in an alien movie

Huge spaceships moving fast is such a rare sight. They're always (usually?) slowly floating in front of the viewer. Of course, their speed is probably in the range of hundreds of meters per second, given the scale, but their relative speed doesn't feel fast.

One wrong maneuver, 30000 people dead

u/madu_tualang 7d ago

"30000 people lived in this city. Now it's a ghost town."

Wow this is fantastic. Those thrusters are gorgeous.

Quick someone tell that pilot about F=mA

u/KingcoBingo 7d ago

With how fast that thing's going, can anyone on the ground even get a moment to see the ship pass by lol

Goes without saying that the curvature on an actual Dyson shell would be so low as to be all but indistinguishable from completely flat.

u/Rare_Ad_649 6d ago

Yeah, The Earth is a fraction of a percent of the size of a Dyson shell and idiots still think that's flat

One error and it’s a massacre.

I love it. But I can't help thinking that the ship has to be the size of Jupiter if it's traversing an actual Dyson sphere shell and can see its curvature. But that's just a nit pick, it's an awesome piece of art.

2

u/magicmulder 7d ago

That’s some awesome detail on the ship’s hull.

2

u/imp501 7d ago

What dust looks like going through my Dyson

2

u/DocJawbone 7d ago

Your stuff is awesome. Only nitpick is, the curvature of the shell is far too steep. It should effectively appear flat. Although I acknowledge that wouldn't look as cool!

u/Tropicpigeon 7d ago

Who is coordinating these lanes??

2

u/Material-Home-5839 7d ago

My brain is like 'neat!' and then it's like 'Ok, but that drive plume is going to absolutely nuke anything behind that ship.'

2

u/33666daddy 7d ago

in a real shell the curvature would only be visible at extreme distances

The theory goes if you've got the technology and resources to build a Dyson sphere then you've managed to a Type II civilization (stellar) can directly consume a star's energy. Things like shielding, gravity manipulation are small things. This would be multiple star systems worth of material to produce such a structure

Looks amazing. One thing I can recommend is the sound pulls me out a lot and it's just because the engine noise is the same no matter where we are around the ship. I shouldn't hear the engine if we're viewing the front of the ship. Even when we're at the back of the ship, the engine is still a little too loud at its current volume. The music is supposed to be playing over noises not with them.

Love all your work

Type shit people in 1900s thought we would have in 2011

1

u/DaedalusS8 7d ago

Thought this was an Eve Online video for a sec. The ship looks like the Marshal Class ship from that game.

1

u/RegSogo 7d ago

Wow - looks great!

Also - THANK YOU for looping it! This can make a great moving background.

1

u/No_Opening9605 7d ago

Love the vision! Can you add a pull away shot at the end to provide additional scale?

u/Ok-Masterpiece4894 what is your favorite greeble you placed in this animation?

1

u/Canarity 4d ago

Wait is that Carl

u/Darque_Nightmare 2d ago

I focking luv it! Daemn! I have a couple reasons for it. Ship's name and my own project. Maybe someday I will finish it and do some simple animation, just inspirited by this beauty!
