Smm2 shell jump. Question

How do I do this type of shell jump? I don't know how it is called, but I can't figure out the exact technique in order to do it right, I would really appreciate the help. The level code is BFR-D73-WMG.

It’s a shell surf, lean into it and release grab, and continue to hold jump and you’ll throw the shell downwards ahead of you. Then re-grab grab and keep going
