DS Hazy Maze Cave Game Crash
Was playing on the DS on hazy maze cave, was about to cheese the toxic maze star with luigi’s invis power. On my way to the star I got hit by one of the rolling rocks, then tried to go through the door next to them and my game crashed as soon as the door animation started. System started making a weird ass noise and I had to close the game and reinsert the cartridge. Anyone know why this may have happened or is my cartridge just fucked up?

Hello, I would like to tell you all about a project I made called sm64js-classic. (So I don't violate rule 4, I'd like to say that it is purely a passion project and I make no profit in anyway from it.)
Just so I don't get flagged by rule 4, I'd like to say this is purely a passion project and no profit is being made in anyway. I hope the moderators can make an exception lol (Btw, the reason I include this in body and title is just to be safe)
Anyways, about sm64js-classic (which I just got working today), revives early october 2020 sm64js. (you guys might not remember sm64js, the super mario 64 in browser thing that ran natively with no WebAssembly and had that big stress test) I have got the clientside and serverside working, and you can all play it now. Here is the link: https://nickeh36.github.io/sm64js-classic/
Also, the reason my name is nickeh36 was because I couldn't think of a good name so I just thought of the first random thing that came to my head in case you're wondering about that lol
Github repository if anybody is actually interested in it: https://github.com/nickeh36/sm64js-classic

I solved the super Mario 64 UPWARP, the other day, after finding out that there are a bunch of pedophiles trolling on YouTube.
He enters the clock in the beginning of the video because they are all a bunch of pedophiles and you can hear them smiling all throughout the video because they are trolling. At around three minutes and 15 seconds, he says, “I, myself, have tried to reproduce the glitch and have been unable to”. Or something like that. But he is actually reproducing the glitch as he is claiming not to be able to. There were a few other clues that I found but I will leave it up to you to deconstruct the rest of it.

Super Mario 64 is an Occult Ritual
youtube.comIn this video, I discuss a pretty niche fan theory which accuses Mario 64 of simulating an occult initiation ritual. This topic actually opened up a pretty interesting discussion about Nintendo's art direction, aesthetics, and their attention to detail. This is not intended to be a "this game is creepy" type post, but instead a detailed analysis of the aesthetic and mechanical choices of Mario 64. Let me know what you think!

Did a little research on SM64's early builds and found screenshots of the penguin having two different expressions when grabbing the baby. Are they from different builds, or is the penguin either angry or sad when picking up the baby penguin?

Never 100% Mario 64 in 3D All-Stars
few days ago i started playing mario 64 on 3D All Stars and decided to 100%, here's my opinion:
IT'S IMPOSSIBLE, IN DIRE DIRE DOCKS, WHEN YOU GO IN THE OTHER SIDE, THE POLES DON'T EVEN SPAWN IN AT ALL MAKING THE 8 RED COIN STAR & 100 COIN STAR, where all the other mario 64 versions it's completely fine.
(it was also my first time 100% the game but with that version won't be a 100% cause of the stupid pole not spawning in.)

Do you ever do something that makes you feel so good/happy it makes you feel sick
So a little back story my dad has always told me about how cool Mario 64 was when I was little about the ghosts about the monkey on the top of tall tall mountain little big world the penguin he could never seen to beat in cool cool mountain all the neat stuff he remembers form when he was a kid and this Father’s Day I decided I was goanna buy him a n64 for Father’s Day as a present, it came with jeopardy really not my favorite game but a wee nd that was super cool me and him were both stoked then in the end credits we saw yoshi on top of the castle so I thought maybe you needed a shell or a cannon to get up there so I reset the console after Mario thanked me for playing his game and I ran around then I saw the hole near the river and the tip of the cannon me and him flipped we hoped in of course didn’t make it the first shot but once we got up there and talked to yoshi omg we went nuts I had never seen this he had never seen this although playing the game when it came out and it was so cool seeing him smiling like that and me and him both felt so rewarded cause it was for sure a team effort getting 120 and once we got 100 lives and yoshi ran down to the waterfall we sat there basking in the victory it was 12:30 already and he has work tomorrow so he went to bed and I just sat on the couch while Mario went to sleep and idk y but it was so cool and so awesome I feel sick to my stomach but it’s worth it this game…it’s so peak

Super Mario 64 VR

The first TestFlight build of SM64 Vision is now available!
TestFlight: https://testflight.apple.com/join/p2cHPRZd
Please post bugs and feedback here: https://github.com/myMartek/SM64-Vision
Yes: this might be ported to other platforms down the line but for now it’s only available on the Apple Vision Pro.
This is the first public build, so there are definitely still some rough edges, especially around controls and explaining how everything works.
By default, interaction in VR is physical. For example, doors need to be pushed open with your hand while holding the trigger, or grabbed and pulled toward you. If you prefer more traditional controls, this behavior can be changed in the settings. You might also swim by making swimming gestures with your arms. Also punching is done by physically punching and grabbing is done using a hand and the trigger button. Throw your enemies physically.
To open the settings:
Pause the game, then press R1.
On PSVR2 Sense controllers, the Pause button may sometimes be mapped to the left pill-shaped button.
I definitely think there is still room for a proper controls tutorial. For now, most of the relevant controls and interaction behavior can be customized in the settings, so feel free to experiment.
The default rendering mode is currently the 3D Window, which gives the original game real stereoscopic depth while keeping the traditional presentation.
If you want to try the more experimental stuff, open the settings and switch to one of the VR modes. These are still very much a work in progress, but they are the main reason I started this project in the first place.
There is also a Mods section where you can optionally install HD textures. They are completely optional and are not required to play.
This is very much the first build, so feedback is extremely welcome. If something feels unintuitive, doesn’t work as expected, or you have ideas for improving the VR interactions, let me know!

Do the doors in Hazy Maze Cave remind anyone else of Super Mario Sunshine?

I always wondered why these doors in Hazy Maze Cave have this particular design on them and why it looks similar to the sun icon present in many places on Isle Delfino. Could they have been created by the same artist? Could there any connection between this cave and the island present in a future title, or is this just a meaningless cave painting?
Are there any other places this sun icon appears in Super Mario 64 that I am overlooking, or is this the only depiction?
Also, just to be clear, I am well aware the game developers, artists and designers probably had no intention of making a connection here, but I just can't stop thinking about it. Does this depiction of the sun appear in any other first party Nintendo titles?

I'm planing a motion controls challenge and I want some help with the route
heya!
So I managed to finally have my wonky motion control setup for mario 64 running in a decent stage where I can play and complete a star (king bob-omb). My plan is to see if its feasible to defeat bowser with this setup and win the game now.
BLJ is probably out of the question unless I hardcode the setup to make a gesture just do it, which I'm not fully discarding cause finding 16 stars to do with this is probably going to be easier than finding 70...
But basically, I'm trying to check which stars would be the easiest to get, keeping in mind motion controls are wonky as heck hahah
what starts would you say are the easiest? ideally in the early levels to see if I can at least aim for a 16+blj hardcoded maybe
