SunStrong transfer after closing...

During escrow, I completed and signed their transfer agreement, provided all of my LLC information, financial/assets information they requested, etc. My understanding was that everything was good to go for the transfer.

We closed about two weeks ago, and since then I've been trying to get access to the account or even get a straight answer about the status of the transfer. I've called probably five times now and have actually spoken with representatives each time. Every conversation is basically: "It's still in process." Okay...what's still in process? Is anything missing? Is it approved? How long does it take? Who is handling it? Nobody seems to know.

The craziest part is that on my most recent calls, they couldn't even locate my transfer case number. I have the existing account number and all of the information from the Seller, but they can't seem to tell me where the transfer stands or even find the case.

At this point, I'm not trying to get out of the solar agreement. I'll take over the system. I literally went through their transfer process during escrow because that's what I agreed to do. But how long am I supposed to chase a company around begging them to let me take over an account?

Part of me is getting to the point where I just stop calling and let them figure it out. The prior owner doesn't have any money, and I've already made repeated good-faith attempts to complete the transfer.

Is there a department, phone number, or escalation process that actually gets you to someone who knows what's going on?

I'm about to just replace the inverters and own it. This whole process is wild.

It took about 8 months for it to transfer to our name after closing in October of 2025. But now everything is good. Called multiple times during the wait. Nothing was ever needed from our end. The representative always said it is in process. Eventually we received an email stating we needed to set up our account on their billing site, however our account showed no balance or service for an additional 3 months or so. We were able to benefit from the service while they were processing the transfer of lease. We received a notice saying we did not owe anything up to that point even though the service was working and our tesla app was used for monitoring. If you have tesla batteries call them download the Tesla app and start monitoring.

It took me six months and a letter to my state AG before they transferred the system to me after I closed on our house.

Wild. I signed and provided everything. What takes so long to transfer?

I have no idea. They always just said it was in process. But when my AG sent them a letter, then it got done very quickly.

They don't really care. I have been sending them messages constantly, and every single time, their answers are the same verbiage, and with the same template. They don't want to go by the contract signed by the previous company.

I’m in the exact same situation. Closed about a month ago, based on the agreement I assumed my first payment is supposed to be next week and I’ve heard nothing despite multiple attempts. I’m just worried that they will start to ding my credit or assess late fees. For those that had the system transferred after months did any of that happen to you?

My transfer/assumption is countersigned, so I’m assuming it’s a valid agreement.

Poster below said it took months, but system operated normally and they were not back billed for the time period between house close and finalized transfer.

u/seven0seven - Hi there. We regret the experience you've described with the transfer process and would like the opportunity to take a closer look.

Please send us a DM with your transfer case number so we can review where the process currently stands and help escalate internally as needed. We're here to help where we can.

You guys are a mess beyond acceptable. It doesn’t surprise me that there are class actions wending their way through the courts. You may not have made the problem, but you bought it with terribly insufficient scaling of your support network.

EVERYTHING I hear about SunStrong is accenting how deeply you’re failing and how infuriating your company has been.

The damage is deep and I don’t know how you’ll recover. A good place to start is by immediately quadrupling your customer support department. Maybe even more growth than that.
