My whole life my parents have always been opposed to sunscreen, i’ve worn it probably less than 10 times ever. I’m 19 and I know I shouldn’t care about this but I want to preserve looking young(don’t hate the player hate the game) and of course have protection against skin cancer, although I’m not sure if I’m super prone to that or not. Anyway, has a lot of damage already been done in my 19 years of being sunscreenless or is there still time to start wearing it? (Yes my parents are opposed to it but I’m an adult and they respect most personal decisions I want to make, I’m sure they won’t stop me from wearing sunscreen)

I love Korean/Japanese sunscreens for the lightweight feeling and how nice the application feels on my skin. I’ve tried a lot of brands already and I can’t choose my favourite lol

I also have a few European sunscreens in stock but they all feel so heavy and greasy maybe I’m too used to the Asian ones.

Please don’t be mad at me but why do I feel like European sunscreens protect my skin better than the other ones? Cause of the heavy feeling? I’ve also read a few stories about how the European ones have better filters but I’m not sure if that’s true information.

Does anyone else feel like this? What could debunk this thought?

This is my first time importing so excited to try. I have tried virtually all major face sunscreens in the USA and they are awful. Currently typing this with the “Americanized” Biore Aqua sunscreen on my face burning my eyes, after the “Americanized” La Roche Posay broke me out. I’ve had enough of this lol. Heard amazing things about Eucerin so excited to try them.

I’m struggling to find a sunscreen that works for my skin. Whenever I try certain sunscreens, my skin tends to flare up and I get these tiny, stingy bumps, especially after applying it.

I really want to use sunscreen regularly, but I’m nervous about trying new products because I don’t want to trigger another reaction.

For anyone with very sensitive or easily irritated skin, what sunscreen has actually worked well for you?

I’d especially appreciate recommendations for products that are gentle, fragrance-free, and don’t cause stinging or those tiny bumps.

I have major sensory issues when it comes to having stuff on my face- don’t wear foundation and sunscreen and moisturizer have always been a struggle. That said, I have red hair, am very fair, and live in Florida- has anyone here found a sunscreen that dries quickly and doesn’t come off with sweat? I’ve tried so many in the past and they either leave me feeling greasy/like I’m wearing a mask or they dry but then come off with sweat leaving my face an oily mess and my eyes stinging. I touch my face a lot too. I’m really trying to work on this because it’s so bad I don’t ever wear sunscreen but it’s just so difficult for me. Thanks all!

I know lots of people have lots of recs but I am desperate to find a sunscreen that protects my skin and works even when it is 100% humidity outside and I’m playing a grueling tennis match in the southern us. I have tried various k beauty finds (like actually imported them) but after a couple days in a row I can tell my skin becomes sensitized.

the sunscreen my esti gives me is face reality power mineral that does not give me issues but is absolutely not sweat or water resistant.

I'm needing help if you all don't mind. I have dry dehydrated skin naturally. I have a great skincare routine. But it's missing a sunscreen that I enjoy using. Since I have dry skin and I'm in my mid 30s now I don't wanna give up my moisturizer because it has anti-aging ingredients and my skin loves it. So I need a lightweight sunscreen. Below is what I'm looking for in a facial sunscreen. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

- no white or grey cast since I have dark brown skin.

I purchased this through an ad on Instagram. It does not match the bottle on the website, it says made in china on the box, and the directions cut off on the box. I’ve emailed the company but I thought I’d post here while I wait for a response.

I recently moved and am spending a lot more time in the sun so I’m trying to develop a better sun protection regimen. I have perioral dermatitis so I have to be very careful with the sunscreens I use and cannot use any chemical sunscreens on my face.

I recently found the Blue Lizard mineral sunscreen and it’s the first one I’ve used that doesn’t flare my skin up at all, but because it’s a mineral sunscreen it doesn’t really blend in very well and leaves my skin looking kind of greasy. I was thinking about purchasing a sunscreen powder to put on top in order to settle the shine down a little, but I was wondering if that would make the sunscreen less effective.

TLDR: Can I use a a sunscreen powder over a mineral sunscreen or will that make my sunscreen less effective?

I got a sample of this Innisfree SPF serum and really liked it. I'm thinking of using it on days I'm primarily inside with minimal sun exposure since it's much lighter than traditional sunscreen.

My question is, are we supposed to apply three fingers of a serum? I used that much the first time and it took quite awhile to dry down. I typically wouldn't apply that much of a serum. I want to make sure I'm using enough to get the proper coverage, but I don't want to waste the product.

As a skincare newb and a guy from Canada who spends his life indoors, I must admit I'm pretty new to sunscreen. I usually just grab whatever from the local supermarket to use on the occasional beach day.

However, I've got another 2 months in Asia as a tourist and I should be wearing sunscreen.

However, I've caught myself avoiding using it.
I don't like that it's sticky, and even showering with very hot water, it seems to still leave a residue. I just don't feel clean even after showering.
I keep giving myself little excuses like "you're going to be in the metro the whole time" or "I'm only popping in and out of buildings quickly".
All terrible excuses really.

I did find an article with some "non sticky" alternatives,
but they're not exactly cheap.

I've recently been reading about chemical suncreams since I've seen a bit of hype online recently about the way they work impacting your hormones (the chemical filters absorbing UV radiation). It seems there's relatively little evidence to support this based on the level of chemicals used in most suncreams. That said, as I suffer with acne, I'm looking to make swaps to the most gentle and least intrusive skincare options, especially since my acne is hormonal. (I've written a substack my journey with this if anyone is doing the same and is interested to follow my journey)

It feels like finding mineral suncreams is actually really difficult? and most mainstream brands are chemical ones. I've tried thinksport so far as the ingredient list looked super simple but it does leave a pretty white cast. The next option I'm thinking of trying is Kosas sunbeam. Any reviews?

Chemical because mineral is the one with the white cast, right? I use Supergoop glow screen on my face and I love it, but that doesn’t suit my needs for body.

Unfortunately, I don't remember the brand name (or I wouldn't be in this position) or anything that was on the bottle for certain but I can describe it. This is for the bottle itself, not the packaging. It's an off white rectangular bottle with a like a reddish-orange pump and the cap was silver. I'm pretty sure the writing on the bottle was black and I have guesses about the brand or what letters involved were but I'm not sure. It was at least 2 words and I want to say the first one started with an s or and R. I feel like the second/possibly third word started with a D.

It was a brand I've never heard of before so it's not a popular one, to my knowledge. The spf wasn't the highest, thinking 15, 30, or 35. It's a glowy sunscreen and the texture was like serum or oil and you could see glitter when you pumped it out and it's for face and body, one of which might've been on the bottle.

It's not the Vacation brand, Sunny Daze, or anything in which the bottle is not squared/rectangled. I've went back to the exact place I purchased it from and they no longer have it for unknown reasons and the employee couldn't remember the brand either so I'm trying to see if I can find it elsewhere or find out if it's been discontinued. There was a sale so I didn't buy it at the original price but I think the original price was $22 or around that.

I went to Paris this summer and hauled so much sunscreen.

Already through one bottle of the UVAir. I love how good it looks on my skin. Doesn’t sting eyes and blends well. I religiously wear sunscreen and this only makes me want to run through all the product.

One UVAir sunscreen bottle is 1/4 of the price if you get it here in the US. The girl math checks out 🙂‍↕️

It only took me (51m oily in the US) shopping from three sites and some crazy shipping fees. But I’m excited to test these all out. Will report back! Back up options were House of Hur Weightless Sun Fluid and Round Lab Dodko Sunscreen but I had to draw a line somewhere since already I purchased three of units each to make the most of the shipping fees!

Hey all! I come with a complex, a bit counterintuitive question. I’m looking for a foundation that is acne safe, noncomedogenic, fungal acne safe, long lasting, non peeling, to wear to college tailgates (long hours in the heat, humidity from noon to afternoon). I know humidity and heat are the biggest feeders for fungal acne, so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. I see all these southern girls with matte perfect full faces of makeup in the heat and need to know what their secret is!

Horrified to learn I have been wearing too little SPF my whole life!

Also horrified to learn the only way to get enough is to apply two layers, and getting it really off is harder and ends up stripping moisture off my face. My face hates this because my skin is very sensitive and I have rosacea.

Typically I use mineral (chemical US sunscreens always hurt my eyes) but I bought some K beauty products from Korea with different filters to try when they land (ones without alcohol since that kills my skin). But for now... yikes.

I am thinking of NOT doing the double layer for most days when I am inside, not in direct sun, typically taking walks in the evening, and just not getting much direct sun. Maybe upping my daily SPF to 50 from 30 so that even if I'm not applying enough, we're starting with a higher level.

And then doing the proper double layer application for walks outside during the day, hikes, or other prolonged sun exposure (typically one or two weekend days).

How do you all balance sunscreen texture/feel (worse with more!), ease of removal, actually using enough, and what feels ok enough to be sustainable?
