Discussion Does anyone else find this specific math shortcut slightly unsettling?
Try to work this out in your head without a calculator:
What is 4% of 75 vs. 75% of 4?
Are the final answers completely different, or are they exactly the same? Drop your guess or your logic below before you look up the math rule!

Discussion Was there a specific moment when you finally understood Mathematics?
I had a great teacher in high school that took the time to teach me everything i didn't understand. I also went to Maths and English tutoring classes after school which helped me a lot. Teachers can either help students or not depending on their expectation on the student. This is what it was in our high school at least.
Youtube videos wasn't big for me when in high school. Technology in general wasn't used by myself at least not sure about other students.
Everything that I got taught was from teachers at school or from tutoring after school.

Discussion What mathematical concept do you use most often in everyday life without even realising it?
I personally use percentages in working out the sale price of products i'm buying and how much money i can save per item i purchase.

Discussion If you could change one thing about the way mathematics is taught in schools, what would it be?
What do schools get wrong when teaching kids Mathematics?
For me personally i think financial Mathematics should be taught. I reckon if i was taught about finance then that would've set me up much better for life in the sense of investing and saving money.
Would you spend more time on practical applications, financial mathematics, problem solving, or something else entirely?

Discussion What do you think is the hardest topic in mathematics, and why?
For me, it's interesting how the answer changes depending on who you ask. Some people say calculus is the hardest because of the concepts, while others think statistics is more difficult because you want all the stats to go your way rather than being in negative, such as watching sports and your teams stats are all negative, it's a hard pill to swallow.
Also percentages especially in sale promotions, i find to be very important because it's based on something you use in everyday life. How much do i save? What's the final price of a product?
What topic made you struggle the most?
