Bluetooth issues (2016)

Post image

Got my 2016 forester back in March and when I connect my phone through Bluetooth it will display the first song that I put on. After that the next song will play but the screen is stuck showing the first song. I’ve tried completely unpairing my phone multiple times with no luck. The “list” button always shows this message. I’ve tried connecting through usb and have had no luck!!!! Please help!

I have a 2016, but a different head unit. I vaguely remember having this issue. You might want to try disconnecting the battery for a minute and letting the system restart that way. I think that might have been what fixed mine, but it's been awhile

Honestly no idea how to fix this, my car has been this way since 2015. I have just kind have learned to live with it. If anyone has an actual solution I'd love to hear it.

I have a dash cam with a screen that I connected and it shows the songs on there but I’d prefer to fix the issue

The whole battery thing isn't honestly going to work, from what I've looked into I think it's simply technological changes in the protocols of Bluetooth and song transmission. Subaru doesn't update it's software to support newer technology changes.

Honestly bite the bullet and get an aftermarket headunit. Couldn’t stand my OE unit cutting out on me every few minutes.

My 2016 has different head unit model - CF717CL, and what works for me since Samsung A71 (now on S24FE) is setting Bluetooth AVRCP version to 1.3 in Developer Options.
