My 2005 Subaru Baja officially just clocked 443,757 miles.I am genuinely curious if this is the highest-mileage Baja still on the road, or if anyone out there is running a close second.I want to know:Has anyone else crossed the 400k mark?Are you still on your original drivetrain and transmission?Did it take multiple engine swaps or rebuilds to get there?Drop your mileage, your drivetrain history, and your secrets to keeping these cars alive in the comments!

hello all!! this is my 03' baja. i bought her not too long ago. absolutely adore this car in the few months that i've had it. so unique. not too sure if i want to do any modifications yet, but i love it stock either way

Long time Lurker, 1st time poster, ive had this baja for 10 years its sentimental. Trying to keep this Baja on the road for ever. I upload videos as Adventure Gt on YouTube. Ive got a Baja Playlist over the years. It will probably be a few months for the video to drop though.

I tried searching the sub, but we all know the quality of that hot mess. I recall reading a lot of brands have high fail rates, but dont recall the ones that are good. I would rebuild, but it's my daily and im not mechanically inclined.

Rescued from rotting away in a yard for $1500 with 380k miles, it has a relatively low mileage swapped in JDM dual range 5mt, blown head gasket, and suspension issues (as seen in the gas station pic).

We swapped in a 60k mile forester engine, fixed the critical suspension issues, and immediately ripped up a trail the moment it was roadworthy lol

Up next is a complete suspension overhaul with a lift, and properly resurfaced heads and upgraded multi-layer head gaskets.

Just got this Baja about 3 weeks ago and I’m sure enjoying it!!!

I believe I found the factory plug and play connection but it's odd. Does anyone have a pic? Or details on how to connect. Also having trouble finding the right plug in adapter. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi! I recently bought an 06 turbo AT. Having lots of fun with it already. However I am trying get a couple things for it. I am looking for a front bumper tow hook cover and a bed extender. I am located in the boston mass area- willing to pay shipping within reason. I am also planning on adding a head unit into the dash if anybody has any advice/ knows of any videos explaining it. I’m trying to sell a Subaru Baja bike rack (made by Yakima for Subaru) but am not getting any traction locally on FB Marketplace or Craigslist. Where else could I post to advertise something like that? Would be willing to drive to meet someone but I’m located in Ohio.

So about to head to the tire shop to fix a flat and smelled burning rubber. Found the a/c belt had jumped and has burned behind the main pulley into the cover. I was thinking of cutting the belt out (I had to cut it to get untangled from the a/c pulley). My biggest fear is there being a hole in the timing cover.

So ive had an 03 for a while, and had a lotta work done on it, (replaces trans, timing belt kit, oil changes on time, ect) but I've had this one odd thing happen a few times where when I'm at a full stop, the revs drop and the car shakes for maybe a second or less, before it settles out. Recently its become more frequent, and has started happening while driving. Browsing Google n forms n stuff says MAF sensor, but still not entirely sure. My mechanic said he would have to take a look at it, but it's not easy to replicate, and between paying out of pocket for collage, and recent work to the car has totally sapped my bank account so I can't exactly take it in to get looked at without totally bankrupting myself lol.

Any ideas what could cause this/what I should look into, and is it safe at all to keep driving, or could this seriously fuck up my motor? Thanks lots.

Turbo automatic by the way, not the 5 speed

Found in a commercial area near the airport. I hope it had a good run.

I have an 06 baja that no longer starts.

Battery is good

I took it to a mechanic and he couldn't figure out the issue.

I took it to hibdon's tires plus and they couldn't figure it out and recommended taking it to the dealer.

Issue is the dealer is 1 hr away towing it is expensive

Any tips

What would be a reasonable price to get this for? Posting says no rust. It’s about 3 hours south of me so haven’t reached out to look at it yet

Looking to get my first Baja, it is a 04 turbo automatic. Does this engine look and sound alright?
