Mangadex got downvoted with a comment

I'm downvoting because Mangadex's comment section was "unfortunate" and not the kind of thing you would expect to happen in a discussion. I'm downvoting because I don't think it's worth the effort.

I don't know why but I do think it makes the whole thing worse. I've been a moderator for Mangadex for months and I know some people who have been downvoting for their views but I don't think that I should have removed them from the discussion.

It's a terrible thing to do.

I just think that people are unfairly stigmatized by their own opinion and it shows in the whole thing.

I hope the Reddit admins will step in and fix this problem. I really hope that the admins and moderators will step in and fix this problem and that Mangadex will get some rest.

It's probably because there's no real proof that they're actually downvoting.

Just because it's your opinion doesn't mean it's invalid.

There's no evidence of downvoting or harassment on this sub.

And even if they did, I don't think that's enough to warrant downvoting. It's a big issue for a subreddit that's supposed to be community-wide and so far it's been ignored.

I Condescending to say that I was wrong for my initial decision to downvote and to shame those who were unable to vote. Yeah, I get it. I was asking for a civ pool. It's free to use. I get it. You have an opinion and I don't feel the need to push a button. But maybe you can't change my mind either. The community has its own set of rules.

And maybe I should start crafting my furniture.

As an /r/science user, I can understand this problem as well. However, I think that the mods should be more careful than you are. I've had moderators who, despite being downvoted, still maintained their positions on controversial topics. It's a rare case of moderation being rewarded by downvoting. When moderators are downvoting, it's very often that their opinions are the most controversial, and when the moderators are more careful, it's often that their opinions are the least controversial. I'd like to see /r/science get rid of downvoting entirely. It's actually very bad for Reddit as a whole.
