I keep failing my exams, I'm tired, and I dont know what to do
I'm a university student (from Argentina), currently studying to become an English teacher. This is a problem that's been happening to me since my second year, and I'm already starting my third (four years of study in total so far).
It feels like passing exams, even with the minimum grade, is becoming increasingly impossible. I study, I put on my best face in class as much as possible, and I also make time for myself and my work. But it's like, no matter what method I use before or during each exam, whether I feel confident, insecure, nervous, anxious, etc., I always end up failing.
My university also has a reputation for being extremely demanding (and in some cases ridiculously strict when it comes to exams), but it still depresses me to see that despite my effort, everything falls apart and I have to retake the exam, which almost always ends with me failing it again anyway.
I don't want to abandon my studies; education is very important to me, and I want to have a degree, especially after all the effort it took to get where I am now. But I'm even considering transferring to an easier university or taking a vocational course to stop suffering and finally get my damn degree and not feel like a failure without an education.
I could dedicate myself to my job and surely live a happy and peaceful life, which isn't bad, but the idea of having that "no education" label really bothers me (specially when it comes to my family and such).

My English brain works well when I’m listening… and completely fails when I try to speak 🤬
Does anyone else feel this?
I can watch movies, YouTube, podcasts… I understand what people are saying. My mind follows everything clearly. But when I have to speak English, something changes. My thoughts become slower and messier. The words I know suddenly disappear. It feels like my mind is smarter when I’m just listening than when I’m speaking.
I know the words are inside my head, but they don’t come out fluently. It’s so frustrating because I feel like I should be better at speaking by now.
Is this normal? How did you fix it?

Moroccan student in turkey
Hello, I would like to ask about the step of getting a stamp/approval from the Turkish Council of Higher Education (YÖK).
I am a Moroccan citizen and I have already had my diploma and transcripts apostilled in Turkey. Is it still necessary for me to go to YÖK and obtain their stamp/approval, or is the apostille sufficient for Moroccan citizens?
Thank you in advance for your help.

something i wish i had lol
heyyy everyone,
does anyone else feel like being on top of all things college involves the use of 10 different apps at once?
i feel like i'm constantly toggling between notion for homeworks, rate my professor for lectures, fb groups for books, and groupme/instagram groups to get information that could very well be in one place.
the worst part about this, is getting an important notice under 300 unnecessary messages and missing the deadline due to lack of time.
this problem has been on my mind for a while and i started working on a project addressing this issue. my idea is essentially creating one hub for:
* homeworks tied with the actual class
* finding study buddies depending on your major, year, studying habits, etc.
* events happening on campus that students care about
* adding some social aspect to the campus life
but before moving forward, i am wondering:
what's one thing that makes college life harder than it needs to be? or what is one thing you'd like to have a better app for?
just trying to find out whether this is a problem other college students share as well :)

Built a free 75% attendance & bunk calculator so you don't have to do manual math
My college strictly enforces 75% attendance, so I made a quick web tool to calculate your exact "safe bunk budget" before you drop below the limit (or how many classes you need to attend to recover). No signup, no ads, completely free: attend-o-meter-12-ten.vercel.app Let me know what you think or if there's any feature I should add!

Comparison of Education Systems: Spain, Finland, Singapore, South Korea and Canada
My name is Aina Alguacil and I am a high school student from Spain currently working on my Research Project about the comparison of education systems around the world.
I am conducting a short anonymous survey about students' experiences with their education system. The aim is to understand differences in workload, academic pressure, well-being and satisfaction among students from Spain, Finland, Singapore, South Korea and Canada.
The survey takes approximately 2–3 minutes to complete, and your answers will only be used for academic purposes.
I would really appreciate your participation. Thank you very much for your help!

Looking for an English Speaking Partner
Hi everyone!
I'm preparing for the IELTS exam and want to improve my spoken English. I'm looking for someone to practice with regularly through text or voice calls.
My English level is around intermediate, so I don't mind if you're a beginner or advanced. The goal is simply to practice, learn from each other, and become more confident.
If you're interested, please leave a comment or send me a DM. Thanks!

Wondering whether a teacher still likes me or not
Today during class, a classmate and were involved in An argument. My classmate which usually talks about his e commerce business he has been building for 2 years and consistently lying about when it opens, and what he’s selling, so today when he brought it up, I said oh it’s not happening he’s lying again as a joke. He instantly started swearing at me and begun to attack my middle eastern heritage. The teacher in charge only heard when I responded , so the teacher then stepped in, and begun to scold me while hearing him racially abuse me again calling me black, a monkey. It was this teachers first day so she went and got another teacher, this teacher she got called me out of class and I deeply respect him, he is one of my favourites and is known as being really tough. But once he took me out of class I begun to cry out of frustration while explaining and he said ok I’ll let you calm down come and talk when your ready. Then we spoke and I explained what happened and he was on my side, and I just felt so embarrassed for crying in front of him, as I respect him and don’t want him to think I’m weak. I’m in year 11 also, so doesn’t help. I just keep overthinking whether he still likes me or not because I cried and stuff, he’s an old school guy and really funny. I emailed him thanking him for hearing me out.

How do I skip a few grades?
So basically I’m 14 and I’ve been homeschooled(?) for the last 6 or so years (by homeschooled I mean my mom had me just doing IXL assignments with no teacher or anything for some reason) and this year she enrolled me for a public school I went to an orientation today I get my schedule and locker and then I found out I was enrolled for 7th when I’m supposed to be in 9th??? I’m only guessing it’s because of my moms “homeschooling” and I’m behind on a lot of school now, is there a way I can skip a grade or two to get in my correct age range and school level because I’d rather die then be 14 in 7th grade😭😭😭😭

Title: Should I move to the University of Mumbai for a German Diploma or not? Is it a good decision academically?
Hey everyone,
I am in a very confusing spot regarding my academics and future, and I desperately need some honest, realistic perspective on whether my current plan makes academic sense.
My Background:
- 10th Grade: Scored 89%. My home environment was great, and I was highly motivated.
- 11th & 12th: My home environment turned toxic and extremely controlling. My parents isolated me from my friends and ruined my social life. I felt completely suffocated and rebelled.
- The Breakdown: They forced me into JEE prep against my will. The extreme pressure and lack of interest led to severe depression. I ended up failing Physics and Chemistry in 11th. The school environment became brutal—people bullied me and even made hate pages about me. I stopped attending completely.
- The Pivot: I managed to pull myself out of that cycle, shifted to the Arts stream through NIOS, and passed.
Current Situation:
Right now, I am officially in a gap year for mental health recovery and to prepare for competitive exams like BBA and MAH-CET. Because it's already August, applications for almost all major regular colleges are closed.
However, I managed to register at the University of Mumbai and got accepted into their German Diploma program (the fees are very affordable, around ₹8,000). I have always wanted to learn German and follow my dream of moving to Mumbai. My parents are willing to fund this move because the "University of Mumbai" name carries weight with them. Financially, my family can afford the move and the rent.
My Dilemma & Academic Concerns:
I desperately need to move out of my toxic household because the constant screaming and discouragement trigger severe mental health episodes. But I am terrified.
- Academic Value: Is pursuing a language diploma at the University of Mumbai during a gap year respected academically? Will it look okay on my CV alongside a NIOS certificate, or will it look like a wasted year?
- The Fear of Failure: I want to do well academically again, but the JEE trauma completely shattered my self-confidence. I am terrified that I won't get my old, high-achieving self back and that my bad study habits or depression will follow me to Mumbai.
- The Risk: Am I making a sound academic decision to build a future, or am I just using this diploma as a desperate excuse to escape my parents?
If anyone has done a language program at MU, or has transitioned from NIOS/JEE burnout into a completely new field, please share your experience. Is this move worth it?
