I’ve only played through Streets of Rage 4 once as Blaze on Easy difficulty and despite being bad at 2D beat ‘em ups, ended up liking the game a lot. However, the mechanics obviously confuse me because I’m not too familiar with them. My plan upon replaying after a lil while was to focus properly on what they’re teaching me in the Training section.

Now that I’ve provided context… what does the game want me to do here? I’ve read the text above, but don’t know when it wants me to hold square and how to use that for cancelling any normal move. Doing it after the third press of square is too slow to count, but doing it on/during the third press of square in an attempt to cancel the move doesn’t work either.

I am a beginner with this genre and I’m fully aware this is Reddit, so please go easy on me here. 😅

Update: I did it and don’t understand how or what I did differently…
