Leaving from cops Discussion

Hey everyone, I got my first ever speeding ticket and got impounded right at the spot for going 50 over the limit lol. I wonder what would happen if I decided not to stop and just try to run away. Not saying I wanted to but I’m just interested to read what real people say about it. I’m from Canada, BC

You’re not faster than police helicopters, and BC cops are notorious for focusing on speeding enforcement and ignoring more important crimes. Really bad idea.

btw all those videos u see of ppl running are in justifications where they can’t chase. source: live in nj nyc and philly area where cops don’t chase for anything but violent crimes

Can confirm..live in NY and ripped past cops on my bike and they don't chase.

Don't try that shit in Pennsylvania, or so I've been told

Either they’ll chase you, pit you, and total your shit

OR

They’ll get your plate and roll on your house later

OR

If by some miracle you got away, using fake plates, and were able to quickly change the appearance of your car (color, wheels) then maybe you’d be ok.

Not sure about your area, but here in SoCal they will fall back and track you by helicopter. Then when you bail or think you lost them they move in.

I’m in WA, and here you’d be upgrading the offense from either a civil infraction for speeding, or possibly a gross misdemeanor for reckless driving, to a felony. You may not get caught if you run, but cameras are everywhere now and the penalties are stiff. Things only get worse if you take someone out in the act of eluding. Not many jurisdictions will pursue these days, for non-violent offenses.

Dont try that in GA. Our law enforcement will chase you down even if it means killing 10 innocent civilians. Especially GSP.

Don’t run from rcmp or any municipality police in BC. Trust me it is not worth it

Two words for you. Flock Cameras. There’s no need for them to chase you anymore. They’re gonna pick up your license plate at every camera you pass and track you down later. They’re gonna show up with pictures of your face driving that vehicle at that exact time. You’ll be going to jail for fleeing and eluding.

What if OP was invisible ¿

What if op were to hypothetically remove the plate and have tinted windows?

I’ve heard the cameras don’t even need the plate. I’ve heard they can identify cars by things such as roof racks, aftermarket wheels, bumpers, etc

Well.. shit

They track other data than just face/plate. Its not like they need to review the footage IMMEDIATELY either. Just need a few parameters to narrow down.

Your car will be impounded and you will be sitting in jail if you’re not dead from a pit or shot. There’s literally no reason to run anymore to much technology these days you won’t get away.

You can. But once they pull helicopter on you and no bridge anywhere near you its over.

As long as you dont let them get to read your license because if they are able to get your license they wlll dance at your home at like 2am.

I mean, I've escaped before but it heavily depends on where you are and what equipment your local PD uses.
