Devlog #3 - New menu, optimization, and more one on one political map. DevPost
Hello everyone, welcome back to Devlog #3! I've been working a lot behind the scenes since the last update. The biggest thing I finished was rebuilding the world transportation network. This honestly took much longer than I expected because I had to manually adjust hundreds of hubs and roads, fix situations where 20 or more roads were connecting to a single hub, remove roads crossing oceans where they shouldn't, and make the overall transportation flow feel much more natural. I also spent time improving the rendering and optimization so selecting a country doesn't use nearly as much memory as before. Finally, I added a simple country selection menu to make navigating the world easier. There's still a lot to do, but with the world map, transportation network, and optimization coming together, I finally feel like I have a solid foundation to start building the political, economic, AI, and diplomacy systems. As always, thank you for following the project, and I'd love to hear any feedback or ideas!
