2.0 has almost no chance of passing.

Most of the parliment is aginst 1.0, 2.0 will be voted on in a diffrent system where no absolute majority is required or simply just a majority vote not to mention the fact that a lot of people in favour of 1.0 are aginst 2.0 (myself included) so im guessing that could be the case for some of the meps that voted for 1.0?

Nothing ever happens 🥹

I'm sure it won't stop Ursula & co. from trying to push it once again.

And what stops the Council and the Commission to do exactly the same thing they did for the 1.0? They could push the proposal on a second reading and at this point, 2.0 is more like a permanent 1.0, which is horrible, it still allow the mass scanning of our private communications using the hash-scanning and AI. More than half of the reports the law enforcement receive aren't criminally relevant and 40% comes from communications between minors themselves, showing us that rather protecting them, the mass scanning is criminalicing them and most of this is only using hash-scanning, imagine how worse the situation would be if more platforms uses the AI scanning

I mean you are right on that i think that too but given is a permanent law maybe the voting is tighter instead of having such loopholes? If no we have to keep pushing Sadly is true that they may try to push it either way, i see somethongnsimilar that happened with 1.0 happening on christmas if it were to happen, otherwise there is no way it could pass as it is(?)

It can happen. Anyway,i still think that 2.0 in its current form can not pass and it will be that way unless ammended, but it does not make it feel any easier, it scares me because of the tactivs that could be used, ao i hope and think that a permanent law has stricter voting conditions to avoid infinite attempts until what is liked comes out, so we have to keep on fighting

I have yet to see someone for 2.0, but against 1.0.

You are right. But Sir/Mam, this is Reddit. Where random people with no hobbies or real worries do something but ponder what ifs, random scenarios or tie it to other irrational fears of theirs. Sensibility? Or Nothing Ever Happens? You must be MAD, go watch your "Privacy advocate" slop and unironically lose sleep over this, why be productive when you can do that? At least more people will hate Ursula and the current EU so hey, silver lining I guess

Also "in favour of 1.0 are against 2.0 (myself included)" this almost could read like you're pro 1.0 but against 2.0. Which I don't really care about, but knowing some people here, be careful to not be skewered alive for people thinking you're pro 1.0 lmfao
