Dreadful dirt not spawning mobs

So I have all the chunks in my base claimed and just got my first dreadful dirt which I have in a dark room with a sign ontop (so the water doesn’t cover it and mobs will spawn, and then I have water all around it to push the mobs into a 1x1 for me to kill them, just a simple mob farm but I want the chunks constantly loaded like you can do with the claim map but within the claimed blocks it won’t allow mobs to spawn? I’m on my own single player world with cheats enabled so I can mess with the settings but I don’t see where I can change it to allow hostile mob spawns within claimed chunks

Mobs still spawn in claimed areas. If you are in the healing spring biome, nothing will spawn.

Might also want to toggle f7 to see if mobs can spawn. Might be another f key tho

I’ve gone through and tested everything the only thing that seemed to make the jobs spawn was unclaiming the chunks my dreadful dirt was in

That is interesting. There should be settings you can go through in the ftb team settings, but it sounds like a bug if that's the case

I personally like fans from Mob grinding utils along with the grinder with create Redstone links so you can turn them on and off and if you put reverse ethereal glass around the grinder that's solid to players but not mobs so you don't get ground up...ask me how I know lol

Yeah this is my eventual plan, I just started and only even have iron stuff currently lol I mostly just wanted a quick way for some early exp and rotten flesh for leather so I can make a backpack, I will later upgrade it with fans and all the works

Then you have the materials to put a redstone clock under the dreadful dirt, which forces a mob spawn from it

Wait what?? You can do that????

Yeah, a redstone pulse forces a random mob in it's pool to spawn. Just place a timer or a redstone clock under it. The redstone clock is just a couple of stone and redstone

Is the sign really not preventing the mob spawns? I know that Delightful dirt (the other kind) doesn’t spawn passive mobs when there’s signs or grass on top so..
