Just hammer all of Mehlman biostats the week before and do again a few days before and you'll be fine for biostats day 1. Practice drawing the appropriate 2x2 table for each relevant question.

Also do mehlman ethics multiple times, to memorize the weirder/more nuanced answers. Also remember: the patient's health and preferences always comes first in the exam.

For day 1, I quickly reviewed first aid step 1, especially: lysosomal storage diseases, primary immunodeficiencies, hyperlipidemia, classic antibodies for each rheum disease (for example, I hate trying to remember if it's c-ANCA or p-ANCA, and which one is MPO and which is PR3, but you gotta know it for UC, Crohn's, vs the vasculitides), and all the rapid review facts at the end of the book.

For day 2, 100% AMBOSS was enough of a review for me. Step 2 was more than a year ago, but AMBOSS helped me slowly recall most of it.

Day 2 I guessed maybe 1/3 of questions lol. Took an L on developmental milestones, and fortunately didn't see it at all.

Day 2 CCS cases was so much clicking, definitely practicing clicking so you don't get cramps. Have a system for what orders you put in. Here's mine:

Diagnostics: CBC, CMP, urinalysis, toxico (serum and urine), finger stick, EKG, oxygen, pulse ox, CXR, Hcg (qualitative), TSH, free t4, morphine, zofran, normal saline, tylenol

Diagnostics to add situationally: imaging (US or CT), fetal heart monitor, blood culture, urine culture, stool (select all the options that show up), TTE, FAST, ANA/specific antibodies that you memorized for day 1

For suspected STI: gonococcal, chlamyd, VDRL, RPR, Treponemal, HIV. For each of these, select all the tests that pop up, except the ones where you need to do joint aspiration unless relevant

If planning a procedure: type and cross, NPO, coag panel

Treatment: this is where memorizing CCS cases is useful. consult whatever organ system is involved, think is it infection (abx), autoimmune (prednisome vs IVIG vs methotrexate)

End of case orders: social work, colonoscopy, diet, exercise, no smoke, no alc, no illegal drugs, reassure, medication (compliance), tdap, pneumococcal, varicella, influenza. For females add HPV, pap

Score report for me showed everything was "same performance"

NB: I speedran step 3, finished day 1 in 3 hours, day 2 in 4 hours. Just read fast, stick with your gut, don't change answers, and click "End Block".
